The BEST TV Theme song is...

What is the BEST TV Theme Song Ever?

Disclaimer: This post was going to be about 3 times better if I had written it last night when I thought about it while lying in bed before I went to sleep - but I didn't and now it is today - so ya'll get the sucky version along with me.

BUT...

To get you in the mood, do this: Google search the "Welcome Back Kotter Theme Song". You'll find it relatively easily within about 30 seconds. In two minutes, you'll be singing along - and in the mood for my blog.

"G'head", he says in his best Arnold Horshack voice. "I'll be waaaaiiitttinnngg." (Insert Cheesy Arnold Horshack teethy smile)

OK. Now that you are back, presumably right? You're ready to continue with the discussion now that you're in the proper, nostalgic, TV-Theme-Song state of mind.

I can hear Billy Joel singing it now... "I'm in a TV-Theme-Song state of mind...."

Speaking of Billy Joel - how about the theme song to Bosom Buddies? That's gotta make the top 10, right? "Got a call from an old friend - we used to be real close..."

OK. Those are two of my favs - and I won't spill them all because I want to hear some of yours and not influence the voting too much (eyes rolling at you thinking about the "Miami Vice" theme song).

I will leave you with two more that spring to mind right away. The theme to "Simon and Simon" - it'll get your toes tapping in it's own 30-second kind of way. Lastly for me, the theme to "Moonlighting" sung by Al Jarreau. "Some walk by night..."

Are you singing to yourself yet? Thinking of about 20 shows I didn't mention - ala "The Andy Griffith Show" or "Happy Days" - well tell me about them!

What is the BEST one ever?

(Vinnie Barbarino pokes his head around the corner and says...) "What?"

"The best TV Theme Song ever, Vinnie", Mr Kotter answers back.

"Where?", Vinnie asks.

"Here, Vinnie, right now. Which is the best ever? We are nominated, you know."

Suddenly Epstein comes through the door, "I got a note!"...

Oh Gosh so Many! I love Welcome Back Kotter and Bossom Buddies. I loved those shows too. I like "Moving On Up" on the Jefforsons. You know a song that keeps sticking in my head of late is from that old movie Arthur. "If you get stuck between the _____ and the city". Do you know that one? The Friends theme was good in the beginning, but they wore it out. The Brady Bunch song was cute too. Isn't funny how I like all the old theme songs versus the new ones. I will have to think more about it. Have a Great Day!

I have 3 songs on my computer up here at work - saved and ready to cheer me, or one of my co-workers up whenever needed. One of them I have already mentioned - yeah, I'm a Sweathog sometimes.

The 2nd is an "intrumental" - and I'm not going to spoil the voting until someone mentions it. I will say this - the TV series took place in the 70's. Hint: "Elizabeth - I'm coming to see you!... Oh, this is the BIG one!..."

The 3rd goes a little something like this... "Love, exciting and new..."

Hey, The Jeffersons is a great one and if you say that one, then you MUST mention "Good Times", right?

So many days of my life have been spent with "The Brady Bunch" song going through my head... lol... "the Brady bunch, the Brady bunch, that's the way we all became the Brady bunch, ba dum da de dum ta dum ta dum dum"... or something like that...lol.

Yeah, the Arthur theme is addictive too... don't get me started on that one...

<---tries to change the song in his head now - "...ain't we lucky we got 'em... Good Times!...."

Dont forget Gilligan's Island !

"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship...."

There's worse theme songs to be singing. By the way, it's available for download in the internet - I know because I have it on my computer...lol.

You could have the theme from F-Troop stuck in your head, instead...

"Love, exciting and new..."
