I voted for Get Shorty and Be Cool as Favorite John Travolta move, Pulp Fiction is one of my all time favorites...I just don't consider it a "John Travolta" movie.

Could not take John Travolta as a serious actor after 'Fever'.

But now he is one my favorites...
And Tarantino...

Hey, attentive2u58, thanks for stoppin in...

Yeah, I agree with you. I voted for the combo of Get Shorty and Be Cool myself. Those were great stories (written by Elmore Leonard ) and he made Chili Palmer come alive like no one else could have, I think.

True about Pulp Fiction. It's a Tarantino movie. Travolta was just a part of it - so many other great actors of our time gave awesome performances in that show also. It was interesting that this was his "comeback" movie though.

Que Paso, Lemondrop15484u - thanks for poppin by...

Well, fortunately, I do not know which movies he looks "sexy" in and which ones he does not look "sexy" in. (Whew! ) Ima dude and I didn't come built in with the ability to determine that particular feature in my own sex.

Soooooo.... I'll take your word for it and thanks for the vote...lol

I don't take any actors as too "serious", personally.

I am forever amazed at the weight and influence the acting community has over society for no better reason than they are famous and in movies or on the stage. Big Whoop. They are all just plain ol' folks just like you an me. Their opinion isn't any more correct than mine is.

I watch movies and television shows to be entertained. Simple and pure. Some shows move me emotionally. Some make me laugh uncontrollably. Some make me wish I had my two hours back.

I guess the types of roles an actor chooses, define them within their industry. For me, I look at if the performance was believable or not. Travolta has always been (with the possible exception of "Look Who's Talking" ) a powerful, believable, imagination-capturing performer, in my humble opinion... lol[

Yeah, Pulp Fiction is one of my guilty pleasures also. It is such a cool way to present a movie to the audience - compartment by compartment and in no particular order. When the credits roll, then it has all fallen in place - until then you have no idea what is next to come.

Pulp Fiction will forever be remembered as the film that resurrected John Travolta's career and restored his credibility as an actor. Remember the shock everyone had when they first saw him with that haircut??? And then the surprise that he actually pulled off the part seriously???

Yep. Easily his best role ever. He had too much at stake to fuck it up.

Yeah, I agree - it was a huge departure from the path he had been going down (Look Who's Talking). Still though, it's hard to say he was the big winner who came out of that movie. Look at Tarantino, Jackson, Keitel - they all got an enormous boost after that movie came out. I don't think it did anything for Bruce Willis though - he was the forgotten actor in that show.

But, yeah, likely his most important performance past and present.

I LOVE JOHN TRAVOLTA!! I think he is so sexy. I personally like him in pulp fiction. He keeps his cool through the whole movie during some really fucked up situations.

Once again, I thankfully have nooooo idea about the "so sexy" part...lol.

But, I agree - he really played that role well. Very, very smooth - well, except for when he shot the black fella - he got excited then. (What was his name? Geesh, that's gonna haunt me the rest of the morning. )

Thanks for swingin' in... come back soon...

Yeah, Travolta is one of those actors that instantly elevates a movie to "must watch" status.

Me: "Hey, what movie do you wanna see?"
You: "Well, there is that Travolta movie..."
Me: "Well, we gotta see that one then!"

Knowwhatimean?

(Hmmmm... did I just ask you to a movie in a roundabout way? Perhaps the next time I swing through Cape Girardeau... )

Grease R-O-C-K-S! I can be flipping channels, come across Grease and I will become firmly entrenched in the movie from that point forward until the end. 99.999% of the time there will be nothing on better than Grease - no sense flipping around any longer...lol
