"I shoulda never..."

"Do Over!"

Remember when you were a kid (some of us still are...lol) and you were playing a good ol' fashioned game of "Frustration Whammo" with your buddies and something didn't go just right? What did ya'll do? Yep, that's right, you had a "do-over."

Dontcha wish life worked that way? I think we all have those spots that we can look back on now and say, "Yeah, I coulda done that one a whole lot better!"

Here's your chance to try it again - in the magical world of Steve's "Workin' Hard" Blog - let's hear the place where you wish you coulda yelled, "Do over!"

No one has to know - no one reads this blog anyway. Go on, let it out.

Here's mine. (Well actually, here is one out of about 132-ish of mine.)

When I was about 21 I took a course on Air Traffic Control. Man, what a job! Stressful, yes, but that doesn't bother me so much. The perks are amazing - a great upside.

Anyway, I took the class and aced it - but never took the civil service exam that would have gotten me into the door. If I could, I'd go back there and yell, "Do Over!"

Funny thing is about "do-overs" - they change the entire course of your life. Everything you ever did got you to where you are now. Would you be able to go back to a recent enough time to yell your "do-over"? Or would you change your entire life?

Your turn - go on - yell it!

"Do Over!"

I think my do over would've been when I was 19... Got accepted into the best RN program straight out of high school (yep, I was a smart girl). Took the first semester and 1/2 of the second semester. Was doing pretty good... C's in all my classes. However, I was a little perfectionist. Wasn't happy with the C's, so I dropped out of Nursing but finished my AA degree. Ended up married, 2 kids and after 9 years, got through LPN school. I'm content being an LPN, but if I had just sucked it up and stuck it out, I'd have been an RN going on 20 years now. DO OVER!!! The only thing I wouldn't change about it is my kids....

I would have clicked on someone else's name on the chat list instead of ending up with the control freak cheater I ended up with for 9 years.

DO OVER!!!!

(and end up with another control freak cheater, no doubt)

Do overs... hmmm that makes ya think.

1. I would have gotten pregnant at a different time in life, and not cheated myself out of modeling. (not regretting my son, but I was too young).

2. I would have went to Paris to train with Redkin to be a hairshow beautician, they once begged me.

3. I wouldnt have let my neice get on that bus... enough said about that.

"What if's" suck.

Regret and lamenting are hard things to let go of sometimes...

It's tough when you realize if you went back and changed just one thing, how much of the rest of your life it would affect.

Every decision we ever made got us to here. Sometimes taking away a bad decision would also take away some good consequences. That's why "Do-Overs" are a hard thing to swallow...
