Stop looking and let it happen...

The thing I hate most about sites like these is the difficulty in actually making a "connection" with someone.

Follow me on this for a moment...

From the "male perspective"

Fisrt of all, you have to be a silver member to browse profiles. Even after that, you become one of thousands of horny men out there.

So, with Silver membership in hand, you start browsing profiles. First, it is locals, then those you are willing to drive to, then those ho may warrant a "weekend getaway." You know nothing about them, but are drawn by their photo, goals, etc.

Do you wink, or email?

Your profile doesn't have a face pic, do you send it and run the risk of being recognized by soemoene in you hometown? After all, being from a small town, people would frown on using a "sex and swingers" site.

You send massive amounts of winks, emails and network invitations. You check (almost hourly) to see who has viewed your profile.

Oh yeah then there is the IMC thing... You see someone online and you try to some up with some sort of opening remark that will start a conversation... and "what's your sign, baby?" ain't gonna get it.

Chances are that, as a male, I will not garner much response. There are just way too many of us out here.

From the female perspective, (or so I have heard)...

If you post a pic, you get inundated with emails, winks, etc. If you post a "provocative" pic, you can't handle all the emails.

And the guys are so "resourceful" sending messages like "I got what you need, baby" and "are those real?"

If you take the time to try to find the "prince" among the toads, you end up with a lot of warts.

Am I being pretty accurate here?

I have come to the conclusion that this has to no longer be a "sex site" for me, but a "friends" site. A place where I share my thoughts and make friends, either near or far.

I can flirt and tease, but an acutal physical meeting is probably not in the cards for me. That's fine. I like making friends, and I love reading comments to my blogs.

That's not to say that I'm not open to the idea of meeting someone... I will always be open to that. I'm just saying that that' will not be my sole purpose for being here. Those who know me already know that to be true anyway.

The advantage to this approach is that I won't waste more of my working hours perusing all the profiles -- wishing I could make some sort of connection.

I want to blog, make friends and have a good time...

But don't we all??

Until next time...

More connections are made here in the blogs than on the rest of site has been my experience. But you get to have a good time here as opposed to a frustrating time there. Later
