Can You Believe This

I'm calmed down a bit about this recent occurence, so I can now write about it.

A few weeks ago I got a call from the new asst. principal at my son's high school. He tells me that I need to come and get my son because he has been suspended. All kinds of thoughts are going through my head. Yes, he can be very impulsive, but what could have happened that would warrant a three day suspension?

I get to school and meet this guy. Upon meeting him, I can tell immediately that he was hired for his "Prick Factor" I'm not talking anatomically, here. This guy is what the administration figure to be the perfect henchman, a prick for sure, a jerk of major proportions.

It didn't help matters that right before the guy had called, I had smoked a little weed(with plans for some creative sex with myself!) But that aside, I hopped in my car and drove the short trip to school.

When I meet with him, I'm expecting him to say that son was in a fight or something. What does he do, but hand me a hand drawn picture, of several guys getting their dicks sucked. I said what is this? He says, "That is why your son is suspended from school". I stared in disbelief. New school code of conduct; three days for inappropriate conduct. Conveniently, inappropriate conduct is not defined, and is left up to the discretion of the authorities. What the fuck!!!!! I was speechless. It takes a lot to make me speechless. All I could mutter is "Does it really warrant three days suspension?" He tells me,"Rules are rules." End of discussion.

It seems to me that schools are putting their emphasis in the wrong place. Cheating is rampant. Bullying is way out of control. Kids steal stuff, and vandalize. My kid does what most teenage boys do and they are making him out to be a pervert.

The only one to suffer from his three day suspension was me. His father was on my case, threatening to send him to christian school. I had to put up with an angry, sullen kid for three days when I know that he really needed to be in school. Yeah, I think the fucking schools do a real good job of messing with kids heads.

I agree with TomEboy10. I also went to a Catholic School. The more strict something is the more someone wants to rebel against it. I am so sick of people hiding behind what society thinks is acceptable.

So, what exactly do they expect a teenage boy to draw pictures of? Instead of suspending him why didn't they pursue his artistic interests. Seems to me giving a kid something to do, especially something that is non-destructive and gives them a way to express himself would have been a more logical option.
