A little bit everyday...

Often times it is advised that writers should sit down and write something everyday. You should make it a habit and not sit around waiting for inspiration to strike. Of course, who said I'm a writer? I don't think I did. I've tried my hand at writing. Mostly when I think of stories or am remembering something I don't get a mental time line. For me I don't see little movies in my mind. I see snapshots. A series of still images playing like a slide show. That's probably why I'm attracted to photography. No one expects a photographer to be verbose.

I do enjoy spitting out the occasional extemporaneous haiku poem. I never plan them and rarely remember them when I'm done. Most of the time I send them (via cell phone text message) to someone I know and then they're gone forever. Let's try one:

An old desk in the corner of an otherwise empty apartment.

Hmm... I like that one.

For me - both writting and photography are a when I can kind of thing. Doesn't have to be every day.
