Searching...

I know that it isn't true for a good many who post here but for some it is a matter of searching for something outside our normal sphere of existence. It is a search for respect and recognition; validation that we are still attractive --- intellectually and/or spiritually, if no longer physically attracive. We want to know if we can still touch another's heart, mind and soul, make contact in some way and matter in their life, if only in this limited way.
We want to know if we can still make someone laugh, if we can cause them to smile when they notice that we've posted or replied to one of theirs, if we can provoke them to open up and be truly honest about themselves.
If that happens... well, we feel good about ourselves. If not, it's not the end of the world... it's just a little lonelier.

Jon~~

Glad to see you are still blogging. I had cut down on my AdultFriendFinder time but finally made it back to check out your musings and find they mirror many of my own (as yet unwritten).

I am not sure that it is so much a search for respect and recognition as much as a search for that interconnection. I believe God created us all with that deep-seated need to be interconnected knowing that we are strongest when we come together and weakest alone. Without that, we will always have a void. "No man is an island, entire of itself..." and all that. (John Donne)

Looking forward to some more of your well-written stories as well!~~S
