In Spring a Boy's Fancy Turn Towards...

Do you guys realize that here in Minnesota the lakes freeze so thick that we can drive on them? We have festivals and fishing contests that celebrate these brutal winters. Some bars and businesses even sponsor golf tourneys on the ice. Man you can really smoke a drive if there is no snow.

My point? I can't wait for spring to arrive, the ice to break, and get the boats in the water. My passion (beyond the fairer sex) is boats and lakes. Overnight we had rain and melted a considerable amount of snow and a little ice. What sits on my lake is getting black, which is a good sign it is getting thinner and absorbing water. However, patience is a virtue and we will have to wait several more weeks before happy hour can take place on the water.

In the meantime, we are off to Arizona. First thing in the morning my significant other and I will be jetting to the Phoenix area to take in the fun and sun. Can Arizonans even understand a city of fish houses in the middle of a frozen lake? Is the only snowmobile they have ever seen is the SnoCat from The Shining? I have first hand experience that San Diegans believe we don't go outside in the winter.

Let me know if any of you feel sorry for me. Doubtful, so let me know about your favorite part of spring in your neck of the woods.

There are lots of transplants in AZ, many escaping the harsh conditions you just described. Here in the south it is already spring. Everything is in bloom, which is probably why I have such a effin' headache!! Have fun on your trip Mac

Yes...Minnesota has it's seasons...
as do we all no matter where we be

Preparing for warmer weather....patience is a virtue..
to be practiced and cherished in or daily lives...and in the
meantime, I look forward to a picnic in the park too....

Just a little food for thought.............
If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you...

HA...can I ever commiserate with you as I live here too...and I so much miss some good summer days sitting on the shore dipping my line waiting for the elusive grand daddy of northerns, bass, or walleye to be on the other end, your lucky though you get to go somewhere where it is warmer than here although it has not been too bad lately warm enough where no snow jackets are required, so in that aspect I feel no sorrow for you, but in the rest I do...it is cabin fever time...it's climax anyways.
