What is Ample?

Ok, a little help here......

Crusing my local 'who's online now' this morning and I saw a GASP new profile, including a picture. Before this mirage dissapeared I clicked on it and saw what I consider a very attractive woman smiling at the camera, wearing a dress - the picture included her body down to about her shins.

Now - if you were to ask me I would hav said she was 'average' at worst. And I only say that because I think of 'athlectic' as someone who looks like they are ready to run a marathon or compete in the Mz Universe Contest.

She certainly didn't appear to be in the 'little extra padding' or 'large' group.

As you might have guessed from my subject, her profile listed her as 'ample' - so I ask you this - what the hell is ample?

I haven't figgured it out. Is is more than a little padding but less than large? Does it mean a woman is large chested but really doesn't have any 'extra padding.'

WHAT - tell me?

By the way..... for me - I list myself as 'average' - that is my stomach there, I am not all muscles and I would expect to see a 'six pack' if a guy listed himself as 'athletic' - but we don't have 'ample' as an option (at least I don't think we do).

- am搆le搖ess /-p&l-n&s/ noun

In other words.....plus sized, voluptuous (large) breasts, healthily plump, etc, etc. It's all about someone's definition or description of their own body!

I list 'a little extra padding' because Im not athletic, but I have had children, so I mean it literally, slender here, not so slender there ect. I suppose I could put average, but in my minds eye, athletic girl goes running by in high cut shorts and a sports halter top, average girl goes walking by in hip hugger jeans and a back pack slung over one shoulder. But I do live in a college town, heaven for my inner dirty old man.

Ty ladies - it seems your idea of 'ample' is the same as mine. And obviously in the particular case I mentioned I had a real picture to go by. But if this particular woman hadn't had a picture, my image of her body type would have been completely different.

I appreciate the feedback

Katey, I agree that the choices are not the best here, and many of us have set images tied to each one. "Average" to some is not the same to others. I figgure I have to choose between atheltic (yeah right), average, and 'extra padding' - I know I am missing out on a few 'hits' to my profile by choosing 'average' but thats life!!

Lol - papy, thats not on the list of options

I've also posted about this same thing and wondered why, if I'm 5'8" tall rather than midget/short/average/tall/hello up there, I can't be 150 lbs instead of athletic/average/a little extra padding/etc. So I just put my height and weight in my profile and that should give people a better idea than some vague, ambiguous, and undefined term.

I have seen many men put that they are athletic, when, umm, they aren't! There are other options guys!

I hate the Ample and Large words. There should be something in between. Not that I can think of anything!
