Long distance relationships here?

Just curious if you have ever met someone via this site that was a LONG ways away and ended up meeting them.

Now I don't mean people that were in some city you were already planning on visiting - I mean people you met - and then made a point to get together somehow - perhaps after you met you ended up visiting the place they lived - but initially you had no intentions of going where ever they happened to live.

Personally I have never met anyone more than hmmmmmm 90 minutes distance from me via this site. In the past I have met someoen halfway that lived 3 hours away but that was long before I discovered AdultFriendFinder - I have also met people that I knew via the net that were hundreds of miles away - but that was just the friend thing - net buddies.

There are a few people I have exchanged messages with here that if I were ever in their neck of the woods I would love to meet - be it for coffee or well - a hot steamy 'no strings' (rofl) romp. Of course who knows if they would feel the same? (like how vague I am being?).

Anyone have any long distance stories to tell? If nothig else make your own blog post out of it and leave a not here to tell me where to look!!

My lover is all the way from Oregon USA and I live in BC Canada...that is over 2 States away...I wasn't looking for someone that far..let alone in the States....but he travels lots throughout the western region and comes to see me for a day or so approx. every 3 weeks.....not nearly often enough but he's well worth it. I always used to ask myself why all the type of men I was looking for lived so far.....this one turned out very well.

I had long distance relationship with woman in Canada. I saw her often at least several times a month. It lasted for 4yrs. plus. I visited her at her time of need, but waited for her contributing to the relationship. She just stopped responding. So left very high and dry. It was a challenge, I saw alot of wonderful natural areas in Canada rockies that are out of this world. But she was lost in her own world. It was relationship on 2 plains. I am still hurting over it, yet I cherish the wonderful experiences, and I wish her more than the world and peace and merices for her! Thats what I've encountered. Broken but blessed.

I have good and bad war stories about online adventures. I should write a book ... or else take over for Dr. Phil.

nik, we're neighbors. I'll stand at the east edge of my town, you stand and the west edge of your town, let's wave and squint alot and see who sees who FIRST.

It's like the New York State Lottery, "Hey, You Never Know" They would have to be something special to warrant a special trip to see them.

I am in the central part of western Oregon. A guy from Seattle, about 400 miles away, came down to meet me. I enjoyed his company a lot on the phone and instant messaging. In person it was ok, but after he went home we wrote each other less and less and he never called again either. I am not sure what happened. Perhaps we mutually understood we didn't dig each other all that much to try to make it work.

Think I will pop into chat and see if he is there. Just to say hi, and to watch him openly flirt with others like he always does.

I have chatted with plenty of men that live far far away but never met them. I dont have the freedom to travel that why I posted LOCAL in my profile.

Once upon a time a long long time ago...ok well back in 98 I was in O-town this guy was in Tenn, we had an online relationship going. A lot of chat about meeting but it never happened. Wouldn't you know, after I moved to Atlanta only a few hours drive from him he disappeared into the internet graveyard.

I think (sometimes) internet relationships should stay that way.

I've never met anyone from real far away, but I have driven up to 3 hours (200 miles) to meet up with a couple from AdultFriendFinder. It was a great experience even though it was a one-time thing. An AdultFriendFinder couple I meet with regularly lives about 2 1/2 hours away and I often drive there and back the same day to visit them.

Well.. I have met online many ladies from around the country and beyond. But I only met in person one that was International (Austrailia). We had gotten to be very good friends over a long period of time online through chatting and IM's. We would spend hours in IM (when I could do that sort of thing). And she had made a number of good friends from the Chat room, etc. So she took a trip to America for a couple of weeks to travel around and stay with a couple of them. While she was here she made a side trip to come see me.

So I guess I have met one of my long distance acquaintences. I'd like to make it more than one.

Ovid said: Let your hook always be cast fore, in the water when you least expect it, there will be a fish."

I've had several long distance relationships and they're full of thrills and euphoria. You miss each other so much, live for the day when one or the other makes the trip. Then it's non-stop sex and euphoria. But when the natural questions start being asked, everything starts to go south. Your days are numbered, my dear. Unless you can be the person to move.

Years ago, a man drove from Texas to Ohio to meet me. Kinda regret this one.

Recently, a wonderful man drove two hours to meet me twice in one week. I met him through this site. I have no regrets.

The longest distance relationship I have had was a guy who lived approx 169 miles from me. I met him on yahoo but ironically he has an ad on AdultFriendFinder also. It worked for awhile but then got too hard to keep up as we both are parents of small children. I ended up doing all the traveling. Now though we are still friends and talk on the phone as often as we get the chance.

The farthest from this site was around 200 miles... but i've met online friends from other countries before, and one friend paid for my trip to D.C. to meet him (all expense paid!! even the hotel. wow)i currently have a guy in Oregon begging me to come visit, but i probably won't, despite all the 'incentives' he's enticing me with. for some reason, the farther they are, the more i 'click' with them.

I'm from Australia, so distance doesn't bother me so much. I get a 1/2 the week off work and so I guess I get a bit of time to do it. Alas I have never met an online person ever. I'm not sure why. I get a couple of emails and then communication dies real quick.

I've met someone as well that was close to 3 hours away. We met 1/2 way a few times, although I knew distance would be an issue, I was assured by him it was'nt. Still had that nagging feeling that it would be, and lo and behold I was right! I guess what they say is right with age comes wisdom. I have also had someone fly in from another state to meet with me, WOW is the only thing I can say about that. Dinner, wine and well... you can let your mind wander from there. Hear from him every once in a while but even if I dont see him again, thats fine. The experience was well worth it.

I love reading about you guys (and girls)..I couldn't otherwise envision a long-distance or net buddy relationship working. Maybe if I travelled like I used to, it'd be cool to set up meets in different parts of the country in different weekends. Very cool. Glad it worked out for those that it did...

Update: i did travel 6730 miles to meet somebody once. At least meeting him was the main incentive for deciding on going. i had lots of other friends to meet, places to visit, etc. Meeting 'the guy' turned out not so well... i was too skittish (nervous, paranoid) when i first arrived, and he was too pushy (i'd give an inch, he'd try taking a mile). alternative back-up plans are definately the way to go.

Oops... again, that was not from this site though. But one of your recent viewers was from the City i visited.

Here's a question: has anybody travelled a long distance to meet somebody who lives relatively close by? There's a guy that lives like 6 hours away from me... but i may end up flying cross country and meeting him on the other side of the US. lol.
