"Freedom of Speech" - huh? (Warning, no sex here)

First off, if you think I am writing about you personally, you are wrong... This is a general observation from years of reading (and moderating) posts on the Internet, in general it related to fellow citizens of my country.

On this site and many many other places I have seen people complain about their 'freedom of speech' being infringed upon by the owners or moderators of various Internet sites.

I doubt any of those people will read this entry but just in case you do.

There is no guarantee of freedom of speech on the Internet, this site and any other you post to (unless you own it) is run by someone else, they have every right to delete or edit your comments as they see fit.

If you don't like it, then go buy your own site, it is really not that expensive a thing to do. Then you can write almost anything you want for the world to see, you can even let them comment on your comments.

Just don't go assuming that every site is first of all located in the USA, and even if the site you are ticked off at is located in the USA, the site operators didn't say 'write whatever you want' - and if they did, they were lying, because you CAN get your ass in serious trouble if you write certain things on a web site.

So for those of you located outside the USA that read blog postings by people complaining about a lack of freedom, most of us here know how good we have it when it comes to 'freedom.'

Yeah I understand. I think what some end up complaing about is when a seemingly raunchy post gets through but yet another doesn't. But I agree that the site has the right to do what ever it wants with our posts and comments.

The last few days we have been celebrating the end of world War two,too many fought and died for our freedoms today but by God do we forget and abuse them now
