11 years

so I received the call I have been waiting for(but hoped it wouldn't have been so soon.) My sister called me around 8:30 a.m. to let me know that my uncle rob had passed away only 2 hours before she called me. Knowing that he was most likely not gonna make it, I tried to prepare myself for this, but it didn't work. I cried.....while getting ready to open up the cafe. Now all I think about is how when I was a little girl, my family would joke around with him and say that I was his wife, cuz he was my favorite uncle. And then I think about how I saw him only a couple years ago and he looked like he was almost 60 years old, yet he was in his late 30's. I feel even worse for my gma carol because, it was 11 years ago that my mother(her eldest daughter) died and now she has lost her baby boy. All she has now is my aunt renee. I feel lost, lonely, depressed, just not myself.

I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like you really cared for your uncle. Of course you weren't prepared -- no one is ever prepared for that moment or that "call." It's ok to cry, to hurt. I think your uncle, and your losing the relationship you had with him, certainly deserve the mourning. I hope you find all the support you need... you have my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences, It is a hard thing to deal with when such things happen to loved ones. The pain of the loss will dull with time, I hope you have family near by so you have a shoulder to cry on and people to talk to...
