HERE

Kids can really show ya all the way sometimes..

My grandkids never seem to amaze me thank God.They teach me lessons every day.Maybe more than I teach them. Here's an example I want to share with ya all ..it being Sunday morning and all.Let me tell ya..We should all take time and really listen to them lil ones...

This was near Christmas time about 6 years ago and I was taking the youngest one home.He was 4 at the time and could read a few words, but not many.

We was talking about the Christmas story and he was telling me how much he loved Jesus and going to church. He started singing me a couple of his favorite songs he had learned good and loud...then he looked right at me and wanted to know if I was saved.I always stive to be honest to my kids,so I looked over at him and told him..nooo honey..not yet.

Well..his lil face, just dropped,he was very concerned and wanted to know why not! What are ya waiting for mamaw?

I told him the truth..I reckon ..I was waiting on a sign from God.

Now ya all..this here is a true story..

About then..we was turning this corner..and there was one of these big lit up neon signs..

SOoooo..He says.."There's ya a sign mamaw!"

Well..I just about frigging wrecked, chills ran down my spine and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck!...I truly felt at that moment that through my grandson ...at that there very moment..that God..finally did show me a sign...I'm not making this up! The sign said..

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A SIGN FROM GOD..HERE IT IS.

I had to pull off the road and cry.

My sweet grandson just patted my leg and said..it's OK..Mamaw..and started singing..Jesus loves me..this I know..for the Bible tells me so...Lordy I just cried harder.

Do ya all believe in signs??

Have ya all ever asked for a sign..and got one..just like that??

When someone comes along, gonna give ya some love and affection,I say..Get it while ya can.

Not like that MzHuny...but I do believe things happen for a reason and in their time, like running into an old friend when you most need to.

I completely believe in synchronicity, and I am hoping one day - and soon - to receive my sign. I can only hope that when it appears, I am not too blind and/or dumb to see and understand.

Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...

Like docdirk I too believe that things are connected and seeing meaning in those connections means we live rather than exist.

Now don't you go disappearing into one of those convents, MzHuny - cos we'd all be lost without you (unless of course you check it out with Sister Papyrina first)

There are signs all around us, all the time, about everything. Some are easy to figure out, some are hard, and some are 'iffy' even; but even the 'iffy' ones make us think, so they are a sign, too, in their own way. It's all about perspective, and being open to it/them.

I've had so many signs I couldn't begin to rattle off the list, but some of the most memorable ones for me ranged from a song at a certain time to actually seeing someone who was no longer living {not in a dream, although I have had those as well in numberous forms}.

We do not need to see to believe, anyway; we need to believe, then we will be able to see.

mzhuny....yup...I believe in signs. I think we all have urges and instincts, and then for some crazy reason we see a sign that just seems to say "You're right for thinking that; now, go for it!!!"

I'm getting a lot of those signs lately.

ThaRealLiv 43M

6/4/2006 3:40 am

Yes. But I really had ta put my head down hard ta get it. He was distant, yet I knew he was there, so I just pushed and pushed. He continued to ignore me, so I pushed harder. The more he ignored me, tha harder I pushed. He finally gave up and spoke to me.

ThaRealLiv 43M

6/4/2006 3:46 am

That was a really cute story, by tha way. It made me happy. I think sometimes children are more in touch with god than adults are, but they're just too young to realize it. They get no guidance from the adults, so they just grow further and further away from GOD!!

ThaRealLiv 43M

6/4/2006 3:49 am

Also, It's cute of tha kid to say that God loves me because tha bible tells me so, but this cliche definitely lacks the reality of it.

Yep. There is a song by America called Tin Man that tends to follow me around. I've only heard it about four times in the past 15 years, but each time has been exactly when I was seriously wondering if I was doing the right thing (esp concerning heart stuff). Sure enough, each time that song just starts playing from a sound system or radio. The most recent moment was this past Wednesday.

Mzhuny....."and a child shall lead them"! What a great Sunday morning story. I have had signs.....and most recently, it was the butterfly pictures that kept cropping up all over blogland. And then, even with being so afraid of the anesthesia.....it was butterfly pictures that the anesthesiolist had taken. Whenever I needed to feel God's hand to calm my spirit.....it seemed like a butterfly...or a butterfly picture would be there. God is good!

I believe more in the knowledge and wisdom to recognize your own signs versus just the signs themselves. To know when something is occuring is a powerful thing. What you do with that comes down to the gift given.

Wow what an amazing story, I can't say I have ever had a sign quite as clear as that but I can tell you that when things seem thier worst and I finally ask for help it soon comes and things work out. Garth Brooks said "Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers" I somewhat disagree I think they are just answered in a different direction than what we thought were best for us.

Great story hunny. And i also believe in signs from God, because for some odd reason, no matter where i think i might be happy, and it doesnt work out, God always sends me right back to where HE thinks im supposed to be, which is with my kids, and my grandkids. Maybe i should just stay put this time and find out where SIGNS are going to lead me next..
have a great day, and always treasure those precious babies!!

Good Sunday Morning,MzHuny..signs?? yeah,I know about signs..sometimes they come from a place you least expect it..not Neon..but close...I was in Broadcasting...hardly ever home..and one day I picked up my son from daycare..and while we were leaving..he turned and said to the guy at the door.."goodbye,Daddy"..That did it..i said "okay,God, this isn't working what can I do?"..The next day I ran into a friend who was a High school principal..he offered me a job in special Ed...seems when i got out of the service..i signed up for a lot of education courses in college (cus that's where the girls were)..well it paid off...after 12 yrs in SPED..I began teaching Broadcasting in High School..and here I am..after 28 yrs.."quite a ride"..ex ddin't want me to retire..but i did.and she left..but my kids still know me..and my grandkids know me and that's what's important..thanks for the blog today..MzHuny..have a great day!!!

That is a great story. I believe this stuff too.
I have one that is not like yours....but I remember, when I was in college...in MA....and me and a girlfriend went to FL for spring break. We went to Disney World, obviously a HUGE place. Well we are at the ride "It's a Small World" and we end up bumping into friends from her dorm, right there, at the ride. It was hilarious. Of all places, and the name of the ride and all. Just very funny.

Thinking some more!!! LOL

I know God is watching me because by all rights I should be dead concerning my past. Being in drug dens with people from Chicago packing Saturday night specials and all that bull shit. I sure am glad I don't live like that anymore and somehow I feel that my past experiences have made me more tuned to my surroundings and a heck of a lot more humble. As I have stated before somewhere here when my sister took me to detox at the hospital they gave me pills to speed up my heart. I was a walking dead man.

Year ago my father was driving a Volkswagen Rabbit. (You know how tiny those cars are) Anyway he was going 60 mph and this person pulled out in front of him with a big ass car. The big cars with a hood a mile long. He did not even have time to put the binders on at all. His glasses ended up in the engine compartment and he walked away6 with nothing but bruises on his ribs from the seat belt. Even though he had a seat belt on I don't know how he just walked away like that! The entire engine was pushed up to the fire wall. Now THAT is a sign of God watching out for a person!

    Quoting sparkee58:
I was wading at Wightsville Beach once and the riptide caught me and took me way out. I'm not a very strong swimmer and I did see everything flash before my eyes including the fact that my 5 year old son was on the beach watching me drown. I panicked and went under several times. But then I prayed. And I suddenly became calm and lay on my back and did the deadman's float. Soon a surfer paddled over and I grabbed the board and he took me to shore.
That was my sign that somebody is listening.
My father had the same experience in the WEST Indies. He was knee deep in water and all of a sudden he was ripped waaaaay out. I was too young and my mother could not do anything.

Somehow he made it back to shore. This man was in the navy and he does not even know how to swim very well. Miracles never cease. He may out live me!!!!!!

One of my biggest signs came from a college professor, who pointed out to me that most of the students I got along with were Christians. So, I started paying more attention to those people and less to the rest of my classmates and got a much better perspective on life in general. I went back to church, with a newfound appreciation for the grace of God. I've since fallen by the wayside as far as church attendance goes, but retain that appreciation for the price paid for my salvation. I may not always act or talk like it, but it's there.

Yes, I believe in signs. When my daughter was 10, and I was single, I asked God if there was a man out there that would not
1)treat me like a punching bag
2)think my name was bitch
3)think pet names were fat, stupid, and ugly....and
4)think partying without me, cheat, and stay drunk and high
I was working in a shithole joint, and this handsome guy comes in and orders a hamburger, fires, and tea. Nine months later, we were married. It has been 10 years of marriage. I love hoim with all my heart.

The signs I get are more subtle, like being in the right place at the right time. But one time, my dad came to me in a dream and changed the direction of my life. I listen to things like that!! I too believe in signs that someone is watching over me, and taking care of me, the most recent being when the exhaust system fell off my car. It fell off in such a way that it would have caused a major accident if I had been on the interstate doing the speed limit. Instead, I was in downtown traffic doing less than 10 miles an hour. Something made me choose to do errands first before going to work and I am here to tell you about it instead of the dreadful alternative.
