FASTER...THEY SAID.

Lordy..people always are a'driving their cars and trucks and motorcycles..sooooo fast.I used to think everybody was waving and honking at me..Saying Hi..Wow ..I thought..how friendly..people being so nice.I am always watching the road..never tending to gawk at other people when I'm driving..but come to find out..they wasn't doing that because they was friendly..nooo..they was a'wanting me out of their durn ways..everybody always in such a fricking hurry.

I reckon cause I have no need to be now..I don't give it a second thought..when I'm driving along..enjoying my music..the wind in my hair..just riding in my lil jeep.I am always just going with the flow now..very seldom having to hurry..to get anywhere..or do anything..not being on no set schedule or nothing..I pretty much do whatever I've a'hankering to do.

'Cept maybe for this here post..My new boyfriend is nearly here as I am a'typing this..driving all the way from..Somewhere,Ohio..just to be with lil ole me..Soooo I reckon I'll blog ya all..sometime Sunday..I am a'wishing ya all..as good a weekend..as I know I'm gonna be having..Miss me..I always miss ya all..

Would ya all rather be the wind??

Or would ya much rather..just feel the wind??

When ya ride in your vehicle..are ya all the driver??

Or do ya usually wind up riding..shotgun??

How many speeding tickets have ya gotten in your whole life??

When someone comes along, gonna give ya some love and affection,I say..Get it while ya can.

I'd much rather feel the wind, and I usually ride shotgun.........I've only gotten one speeding ticket and that was over 14 years ago. I wasn't paying attention, in fact it took me almost a mile to realize I was being pulled over, the damn CHP only used his red light, no sirens or those twirling ones

Have a wonderful weekend

I like the feel of the wind. I haven't had a speeding ticket with a car in about 30 yrs. With my motorcycle I got a few in a very short time but, haven't riden a bike in over 20 yrs. Would have had more tickets with the bike but, it's easier to get away on a motorcycle. I'm a slow driver now...like you, I get people trying to go around me all the time. A new car will take care of that though.

*groans*

little miss innocent me... otherwise known as speed-demon lead-foot. i've had 5 speeding tickets. and a couple they let me off without.

My brother speeds all the time, worse than me, but has NEVER gotten a speeding ticket He did get ticketed for not wearing seatbelts the last time he was pulled over for speeding. no speeding ticket though. and the cop missed all the knives and guns in the vehicle (knives were real, guns were air-soft guns for playing "war").

I'd rather be able to ride the wind But feeling it for sure. And i'm the driver. Love being in charge. Besides, i've been driving so long now... i freak when i'm on the passengers side. especially if it's MY car, cuz nobody drives my car as good as i do (well: my ex b/f might, but he's the one that taught me and he drives the same exact type car).

have a great weekend

I would rather feel the wind, as it caresses my body, seeming to take me from where I currently am... I am the driver, going in no hurry to my destination, letting others get to that red light before I do.Thankfully I have not been ticketed for anything, and hope it never happens...

I don't mind fast drivers as I have a fast car and drive pretty fast myself. What I don't like are inconsiderate, rude, impatient and aggressive drivers, who in my view are not fast drivers but stupid ones. I feel this much more strongly since I've been a paraglider pilot. When I was flying yesterday there must have been about half a dozen others in the sky and courtesy is a life saver. There is nothing more scary than a mid-air collision so we all fly intelligently and give way if necessary. And it brings it to light so much more when I'm driving home down the motorway that some idiot is bumper-riding at 90 mph, where the slightest hitch could result in death, not just to themselves, but to others. Too many people forget that you're in a thin metal container that at high speed can literally be ripped apart with devastating consequences.

I love driving (although flying is even more fun). I love movement all around me and the wind blowing. I enjoy always having to think about what lies ahead and how I will drive it. Jeez! I'm even one of those nuts who doesn't mind the drive to work in the London rush hour - I don't live too near public transport that goes the right way and London Transport is - for want of a better word - "in need of improvement." I'm certainly happier when I drive than when I'm a passenger, with my lil old feet seeking invisible pedals on the floor.

I have only ever had one ticket for speeding. I had to drive from London to Chester way back in '91, on the Thursday before Easter (Maundy Thursday) - the busiest day on the roads in England, I'm told. It took me seven hours to drive the 200 miles home. Traffic jam after traffic jam. I came off the motorway and drove cross-country for much of the way - even then it was busy. Finally, six and a half hours or so I left the M6 to drive cross-country across Cheshire. All of a sudden the road was empty. I had an Alfa Romeo sports car at the time so vrrrrrrm! vrrrrrrm! homeward bound! Woo Hoo! Coming into Chester from the east there is a straight wide road about 3 miles long, dead straight, wide enough to land a jumbo jet on without clipping the street lighting (yes it was fully lit), I am the only one on the road. Doing 60 mph and slowing, but pass the 40 mph limit sign. The moment I'm past it out pops a patrolman from behind a bush with a radar gun. Shit! I've been done. I pull up, because I don't see any point in a chase. They've got motorbikes - big BMW ones.

Over comes the copper.

"Do you realise sir that you were driving at 60 mph in a 40 mph zone!"

"Have a heart, officer. I've come all the way from London. I've been on the road for seven hours. It's 11.30 at night, I've had a shitty journey and I'm a mile from home."

"Anything you say will be taken down and may be used against you in a court of law."

They get bonuses for nabbing folks like me.

"Very well, officer. (I've seen this in so many movies.) It's a fair cop guvnor. You banged me to rights. You got me fair and square."

They hate that ...... 'cos if you contest it they have to read it out in court, and it sounds soooooo cheesy. If you're gonna go down, go down smiling.

Life being what it is, I paid the fine without contest, so I never did see him read it out in court ..... but that would have been an expensive giggle.

warm xx

I'm almost always the driver. I prefer it that way. I like to feel the wind.....especially a nice cool breeze on a hot day. I rarely ride shotgun.....and speeding? Well, I must admit that I do some. But I've only had 1 ticket in my life.....and a couple I talked myself out of! You have a wonderful weekend with your boyfriend Mzhuny........and we'll see ya on Monday!

Hi, Mzhuny. I like the feel of the wind, while I'm driving. It airs the car out some, and it makes a a kind of roaring sound that drowns out everything else. I can either be the driver or ride shotgun. I like riding shotgun because I can just relax and kind of hang out ... well, not out of the car or course. I believe four tickets, but it could be three. It's been a while though. Three I think.

I got one warning when I was 16 for doing 50 in a 30 mph zone and the policeman said "You do realize this is where the all the judges live, right?" Ummm no asshole or I wouldnt have been speeding.

I did get a ticket for doing the speed limit!!! I was in NJ in the far left hand lane and cars were passing me on the right so the policman gave me a ticket. I said "I wasnt speeding" and he said "Cars were passing you on the right which is a violation" and I said "RIGHT BECAUSE THEY ARE SPEEDING!" How stupid!!

I like the wind in my hair!

I once had a convertible and it felt great. But as time goes and after having two cars, I gave up the idea. My current car has sun roon but not much winds. One thing I noticed a big difference is the smell of nature. I do not need to drive fast although I do in an open road. If there's traffic, I take my time and let others passes me by. As I get older, I need to be alert as much as I can as my reflexes are not as fast as they used to be. Oh yes, I used to get several tickets for speeding when I was younger.

I have gotten two speeding tickets in my life. One was in Indiana near Henryville; I was doing eighty. The state trooper was very professional and I was allowed to pay the fine by mail. The other ticket was so long ago that I don't remember where I got it. If you are driving in Kentucky or Tennessee, the cops are not too bad. Ohio, however, is a whole different matter.

The judge told me never to get caught going over 80 again or he would throw me in jail...To this day, I never go over 80! And I haven't gotten another ticket since 1996!

Just dropped in for a visit and I'm intrigued. Personally darlin, you sure would look good in my old spitfire, buzzin round the north ga. mountains in the fall. Now, I'm sorry I sold it last week. Car like that is made for fall mornings and back roads and not much more than about 40mph so that you can really enjoy the ride. Life's far too short to take it at 80mph. Can't see anything when you're goin that fast. . . what do you think?

I actually got this computor because of a speeding ticket. I heard you could go to traffic school on line. I did that and it only took me an hour and a half. I had been thinking about getting a computor anyway and that ticket just helped me make my decision.

I used to be the driver. Afgter I couldn't drive anymore I rode shotgun -- now I can't get in a car without help.

As for the wind, I'd rather saddle it and ride it -- my shamanic name (also the name of a Magic card) is Sire of the Storm.

I use to love the wind when I rode motorcycles. I am always the driver ( in my car that is).
Never had a speeding ticket in my life. Which means, I have been in the right place at the right time and have been very lucky cause I know I have gone too fast before. Haven't we all? If I have someone in my car, I am very careful. When I'm alone, that's a whole different story.

You look so good today MzHuny, that's a great picture of you!

8/26/2006 9:26 am

Well, first of all, have a lovely weekend Mz Huny. I don't believe for a moment that you'll be thinking of us when your boyfriend is here ... and you shouldn't.

Now, to answer our questions:-

>Would ya all rather be the wind??

I have a tendency to like to get from A to B, and I find it frustrating when I find myself behind a dawdler. Especially here in France (where I am on holiday) - if they indicate to turn a corner, it's like they go into the lowest possible gear and slow down until they are almost stalling to take the corner. You can be a mile behind, and they still won't have turned by the time you get there. Sigh!

>Or would ya much rather..just feel the wind??

That's nice too, when I remember to chill!

>When ya ride in your vehicle..are ya all the driver??
>Or do ya usually wind up riding..shotgun??

Before my husband died last year, I was almost always the passenger in the car whle he drove. Don't really know why - there was a time when we had a Golf GTi wich we both loved to drive, so we used to race to see who got to the car first. When did that change, I wonder? (having kids, is the answer).

Now, as the only adult, I'm the driver, though my five year old tells me he's going to do the driving soon. Yikes!

>How many speeding tickets have ya gotten in your whole life??

Only one. Amazingly. But I do try to drive sensibly for the most part. I'll speed, but not in built-up areas. And even if I'm driving above the limit, I am very aware of road conditions and other drivers, and drive accordingly.

Now go enjoy your weekend, you lucky girl.

Blogito ergo sum.

Would ya all rather be the wind??
I would love to be as free as the wind!

Or would ya much rather..just feel the wind??
I love to feel the wind--it doesn't matter if I am in my car, just outside or in my house. Just give me clean cool wind to caress my body and cool my heated spirit!

When ya ride in your vehicle..are ya all the driver??
Always the driver unless I am ill!

Or do ya usually wind up riding..shotgun??
Not if I have anything to say about it! I hate not driving--I don't feel safe if I'm not the driver!

How many speeding tickets have ya gotten in your whole life??
Three, one local--going 50 in a 35 zone on my way to work about 20 years ago, second one in NH I-91 (interstate) going 75 in 65 zone--was going downhill trying to pick up speed to make it up the next hill 7 years ago, third one in VT I-89 (interstate) was going downhill trying to pick up speed to make it up the next hill 7 years ago------I had a little '83 Nissan Sentra whose carburetor was going bad and it was too expensive to replace it (it cost more than the car was worth!) so my mechanic had told me just to drive it the way it was until it died. So I did--but it would slow down to 25 or so trying to climb the hills that make up much of the interstate around this part of the country. Usually I would try and hit 80 or so by the bottom so that by the top of the next hill I would be doing 40 or so. Didn't like being a traffic hazard and all that. Got rid of that car very soon after that third ticket.

I don't have to worry about speeding now though--I have a great little car that used to just about fly, but 5th gear in her transmission burned out and I have not had the money to get it repaired. So now I do not travel over 55 even when the speed limit is higher, which really sucks. I guess I am just a born speed daemon when the machine is fine!!!!

Hope that you have a great weekend Lyndah!

Hugs to you Lyndah.

I am the wind, I MAKE the wind and I love being in the wind. You can never wear out an accelerator. Hammer down is the only way to fly.

I do all of the driving. Of course most of my friends don't have valid drivers licences, but I'd drive anyway. I HATE being a passenger.

Speeding tickets? Hell, at least 2 per year. I have no clue how many I've had over the years, but it's a bunch. Joe

I'd rather just feel the wind because it keeps dying down. I don't want to ever die down.

I used to exclusively be the driver, but those drives to and from Vegas started getting harder and harder. Now I let my wife do about half the trip.

How many speeding tickets have ya gotten in your whole life??

I've gotten 5 I can recall, and in three different states, Utah, Nevada, and California. The Utah one was weird. The cop told me to get out of my car and go sit in the passenger seat of his, so I did. I sat there while he talked on the radio for about 10 minutes not knowing what was going to happen next. Was he some kind of freak about to me? But then he just wrote the ticket and wished me a good day.

It's been about 20 years since the last one. Guess I'm mellowing out with age.

I drive for a living in a large city, and have an impossible schedule to keep; so yes, I drive fast. I usually try to keep it to 10mph over the limit, but there are times when I can't. Not if I want to get my job done. Still, unless someone is doing less than the speed-limit in the fast lane, I tend to me considerate. I don't ride their ass or make "gestures" at them. I see it every say, though. Oh, I choose to feel the wind, and haven't been a passenger in quite a few years. As for tickets, I have had only three in my life. All three, oddly enough, were for going 20mph over the limit.

I am from Atlanta. The loop there is kinda like a race track. lol They all drive between 70 and 80 bumper to bumper its kinda a scary thing to do. I went back a few years ago with my then wife and she horrified at my driving but could see I needed to keep up to fit in and actually be safe. I had lots of tickets before 30 but after my son was born I drive much slower and with him in mind.(maturity?) I have not had a ticket in 10 years now turn up my radio kinda loud and bop along with a smile on my face. This is my happy day and I choose to enjoy it under all conditions. God Bless much love Terry

I got my very first speeding ticket when I was 43 yrs old. I've had two total my whole life. Does this mean I'm getting "racier" in my old age?

Only 1 speeding ticket in my life... although I tend to drive way to fast. I typical do the driving... but don't mind being shotgun. I love the feeling of the wind rushing through my hair...

Enjoy your weekend

    Quoting rm_PurryKitty2:

    Purry {=}
Sorry you had a bad experience in NJ. You will come back right? I think the law he was enforcing was "keep right except to pass". Although passing on the right is also illegal but not on a highway. I guess he couldn't pull over all the speeders going past you on the right so he decided to get you.

MZ, I am usually the driver. I miss the wind in my hair (when I had some) not having the Jeep or a motorcycle any more. Tend to drive fast but am tolerent of slow drivers. Reeeealy slow drivers are aggrevating, especially during rush hour. Some folks aren't comfortable driving fast. Many are older Sr citizens. If they could just drive other than at rush hour. lol.
Enjoy not having to be anywhere in a hurry. Most of us are jealous.
SR

-How about be the wind, and go like hell. The next car I will build will be a convertable actually.
-Nobody drives my toys but me, you can do whatever you want to me, but dont touch my toys. LOL.
-Alot, but I had to reform. But when its open road on a late night, I may backslide. Actually I heard there still is some (legal)open road races in Nevada. I may enter next year if I finish my current project.

A car is a car
If it can ride you nearby or far

A car is a car
When it gets you in time to the bar

A car is a car
When you are addressed as Madam or Sir

But for some
A car is not just a car
It is a home
After a daylight roam
It is a home
After a nightly roam
Kind of like a homelessness
Reoccurring syndrome

Now give me any banger of a car
I’ll give it hotly showers of a sauna
Play sweet tunes to it from a guitar
By the time you watch me stand by it
And pose with an exotic cigar
Waiting to take you out to dinar
You may even prefer it to a modernised jaguar

You see, to me
A car is just a car
Be it in a new silver shining coat
Or one decorated with tarnished scars
The simple reality
Is they all have similar
Passenger capacity

Whether be it a personalised 8 seater stretch limousine
Or a Ferrari with an exploding roaring engine
A car is a car
A vehicle of motion
A medium of transportation
Even when it shows signs of erosion
As long as it can move from junction to junction
I personally sanction

A car is just a car

MzHuny. Love to feel the wind, and I'm almost always the driver. But when I'm alone, I like to take my time, travelling the back roads when I can, see the countryside and the people there.
Hope you have/had a great weekend.

Hi hun,

Hope you have terrific weekend and that you didn't have to wait too long for your boyfriend to get to you!!

I'd rather be the wind and feel the wind, be the driver and be happy to ride shotgun. I'm lucky enough not to have had any speeding tickets - never been caught!

xxxx

Times going so fast, I’m afraid that, if it goes any faster, I’ll miss something. I shall miss some things I once had, but, in most cases, just the memory is enough. The more I drive the more speeding tickets I get. It's a sign of the times.
