What is it with testimomials?

As a relative newbie I have seen a number of profiles with testimonials which are written and there has been no meeting. Maybe I am off base but that seems to be a waste of time and space. What is the purpose? Is this just a form of self-aggrandizement? After reading several relatively ignorant saounding statements, I have no desire to be in a network or to share a testimoinial.

Testimonial- a favorable report on the qualities and virtues of someone or something.

How could I judge the quality or virtues of someone without meeting them? If I was to be naive enough to believe everyone on here is honest wth what they write and say, then I would probably be broke, dumb, and indigent.

So could soemone tell me the value of these superfluous comments?

A testimonial supposedly be a way in which a member of AdultFriendFinder had hooked up with another AdultFriendFinder member and give us the feed back of that person, how they meet them, how it was, what kind of personality he/she/them have and so on. If they would meet again for sex or it was just a one timer, yet it also give us a picture of what that person or people are like when someone decides to aproach them for a meet. Probably she was a freak or he got piss that she was getting all or viceversa. Well good luck and I hope when you meet people you can give us your honest point of view on those testimonials, that would be the least you can do to save us a lot of work when we meet them/he/she.

Agreed HF it is about meeting and getting behind the profile and the chat. Thanks

I have two testimonials on my profiles from two wonderful men I have met. I have left testimonials on their profiles as well. When I wrote the testimonials on them, it came from my heart. It was just a brief description of type of person I viewed them as.
