Better be Safe than Sorry!!!!

Isn’t our weather in the US crazy or what? Everyday I watch the news and the weather man, in hope for the announcement of some rain. Last night I talked to my friend on the other side of town and he told me that it was raining cats and dogs…my answer to that “Great, I have a cat and dogs, but no rain”. The storms never made it that way…that means that I have to go out in the yard and water my plants.
But I don’t want to talk about my water problem .
Now imagine that one:
God forbid…but your house is on fire. Your car is already parked outside and your animals took off. You have to make a decision… a big one… you can only take 1 item out of the house. What would that be??

Gosh... check all your appliances. Don’t forget to unplug your iron after you used it, even if it is an automatic shut off… razors, curlers, blow-dryers, and so on… it only takes a second to pull the plug… my old toaster started smoking without even being used. Thank god I was at home and saw it…

Better be safe than sorry!!! {=}

My parent's house burned in 1999. luckily for me, I had been away from home for years and lost no material possessions (still miss the house though.) They lost everything they owned. Since then, I have given a tremendous ammount of thought to the matter, because I want to make sure it NEVER happens to me. I have a lot of very important data on my computer, and i keep current backups off-site. I carry my most prized possessions on me always. My legal paperwork is in a fire safe. I have a box of momentos that is not safe. If the house went up right now, I'd go back into the fire for that box. I already have everything else on me that i need, and insurance for the rest.

You asked: "God forbid…but your house is on fire. Your car is already parked outside and your animals took off. You have to make a decision… a big one… you can only take 1 item out of the house. What would that be??"

Serious Answer: My "Safety Box" with important papers and a very old picture of my parents on their wedding day.

Humorus answer: My ass! LOL
