Gettin' Some!

<<<< this is "Jug Head", he lives in my backyard. He is HUGE!!

Glad something is, around this place!!!

Well, this year started off very, very, very dry. We were having all kinds of land fires. I think we were almost 8 inches short for the first quarter of the year.

Now, we move right into Hurricane season, and it is raining every god damn day!!!! I am having to mow the grass every 3 days!!!! And the mosquitoes are out in small squadrons!!!!

When I walk out back in the morning, to look at the ponds, there are frog eggs EVERYWHERE!! And I mean every possible place that can hold water. A bucket there. A tub here. Old coffee mug!! Right now, some nights, it is so loud, that I keep waking up to the frogs a courtin'!!!!!!!!

GO FROGS!!!!!

We've got a lot of frogs, too. But, what I'm hearing most at night is the rumble of male gators in the small tributary of the Anclote River, which is right across the street from me... it's still mating season for the modern day dinos...

And yea, the mosquitoes... holy crap they are bad.

I hate summer in Florida...

COOL!! Gator courtin'!! I tell everyone that even talks about water, here in Florida, "Just assume that it has a gator or two. That is the safe bet!"

Yea, gotta trade the good for the bad. But damn is it fun calling my friends up north in the winter!

Erm....what the bloody hell are you doing leaving a coffee mug in the garden!!

You mucky monster you.

Frogs....give me the creeps unless theyre those little tiny brown ones. But..i do love the frog chorus they make though, its sweet.

Better than sirens & cars noises of a city any day.

Oh, I have used some old cups for chemicals and feed.

I have all kinds right, now. I have the itty bitty garden toads. The large toads. Green tree frogs (but these are being eaten by the cuban tree frogs ) Huge Cuban tree frogs. Barking tree frogs. And "Jug Head" mayor of Frog-ville, an American Bullfrog.

Oh it is!!! I have been woken up, out of dead sleep, several times in one evening. I have them beat now. I added a second louder fan to my room. Ahhh .... the calming white noise!

Late last week our local toads got their legs and there were hundreds on the sidewalk leading up to the school where I work. I actually had to pat down a little girl because she kept filling her pockets to take some home!

Maybe we'd all have better luck if we were as loud in our courtin' as the frogs!

LMAO!!! No, mame. The metal detectors do NOT detect frogs. That is why we had to pat her down. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Louder courting? Can we get 'louder' then this site!

Heh, I don't know how attractive croaking would be, but I know I can get pretty loud.

I'm still wondering what actually constitutes a hunka, hunka burnin' frog love.

Hmmm, don't know? But they sure are loud about their pursuits!!
