replace negative thoughts

"Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones,
you'll start having positive results."

Willie Nelson

It seems I have a lot to learn, I learn things every day about people, about myself. Or, maybe, that is just life……….. I am usually reading 2 or 3 self-help type books at a time. Not straight through, but I just open up a book and start reading, and somehow, often it relates to something that is going on in my life. I am determined to learn, what ever it is.

Recently, I have been reading Wayne Dwyer, or listening to his CD’s (although I can’t stand his voice, so I can only listen for a short while, before I have to turn him off. But, something he has suggested is really hitting home for me.

It’s the idea that if you want to feel good, you can merely repeat to your self
I intend to feel good……… I intend to feel good……… I intend to feel good……… I intend to feel good……… I intend to feel good……… And doing that will make yu feel good. It is that simple. And you don't even have to really believe it at first......... It just works........

So, what happens for me, first, is I start smiling because I feel pretty silly doing that, but then I actually start feeling really good, and I get this core feeling, that what ever happens, I am going to react with total confidence to what ever happens, and with a smile on my face…. And some how, just doing that, repeating those words……. Makes me feel really good, and it doesn’t change what happens to me, but it changes how I react to what happens…

I am a natural optimist and I agree. Start with enjoying simple peasures and accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. Do not dwell on turn off people and events. Enjoy!

I like that - that you are a natural optimist. Somehow, I remember, figuring out at a very early age (17 heheh) that things have a way of working out. And for the best...
It isn't always easy, some circumstances make it difficult, but the more I try, the easier it is to pull out of the hard times........

Thanks
