Who loved here

What happened here
As the sunsets disappear
I found an empty garden among the flagstones there
Who loved here
She must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
And now it all looks strange
It's funny how one moment can cause so much pain

And what's it for
This little empty garden by the brownstone door
And in the cracks along the sidewalk nothing grows no more
Who loved here
She must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
And I was so amazed, I was crippled and I was dazed
For a gardener like that one no one can replace

And through my tears
I thought we'd be together for longer years
For she'd have said that our love grows strong if only she could hear
Who loved there
she must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
Now I pray for rain, and with every drop that falls
I hear her name

And she's been knocking but no one answers
And she's been knocking most all the day
Oh and she's been calling
Can't you come out to play
Can't you come out to play in my empty garden

Empty Garden

Poetic license?
I remember this song from Elton John but it was always "he"

Yes it is Elton John,
Most of Sid's songs have been edited to varying degrees

For life is an empty garden
If love does not bloom among the blossoms
His heart knows when love knocks on Heaven's door
She opens her eyes to the windows of her soul
Dew drops of tears fall on the gravel
Only to dry when he softly whispers words of endearment
His smile will flood the garden with sunlight
His kiss will ease the pain of sadness

The gentle wind blows
Breathes life into the blossoms
The gardener shall once again
Dance in the arms of her lover
The fragrance of their love shall only grow
Two hearts fill an empty garden.

May your garden never be empty.

A poem inspired by Secret Garden for my dear friend Sid.

Very nice, thanks for those words.

Sid know's his garden could never be empty with the friends he has found here.
