The sound of squealing tires gets me pumped up.

Fixed up my car yesterday! I've been having a strange scraping noise when taking certain turns on my car so I pulled the tires off and checked the brake pads, and suspension components. I was shocked though, cause it's got 42K miles and still on the original brake pads, and they've all got a 1/4 inch on them! I expected more wear, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised, the way I drive it's easy on the brakes and hard on the tires.

I spent part of the day replacing the rear brake pads on my car. I thought about doing all four sets of pads but as my dad used to say: "only a moron messes with all four wheels at once". I agreed, brake pads don't offer that much braking power while they are setting, and so going all four at once is an easy way to get yourself killed if there's some kind of problem. I replaced the rear pads because I've been hearing a funny intermittent squealing noise that I suspect to be the "squealer" on one of the brake pads. It took my dad and I about an hour and a half to do both sides, including the inevitable bleeding of the brake system. Got the car washed afterwards.

Hazzah! for do-it-yourselfers.

I have never understood the female ignorance to anything mechanical. So, congratulations on your recent repairs. There’s nothing hotter than a beautiful woman who isn’t afraid to get a little dirty.
