I'm only human.

When it comes to the roles in a relationship... I'm more of a traditionalist. I still believe that in no circumstances should a male EVER be able to hit a female. I don't think there is any kind of legitimate reason to unless it involves:

1. saving his own life
2. saving the life of another
3. literally saving his genitals

I feel I'm a pretty independent person. I can change the sparkplugs in my car, change a tire, fix a toilet, fix most bathroom/kitchen things, sew, cook, french braid my hair, french tip my fingernails, etc. So I would say I could be a "jane" of all trades. I think girls should not necessarily know EVERYTHING about cars or how to fix certain stuff but they should AT LEAST know or be informed of these things so they dont get ripped off by mechanics, or taken advantage of by others. I mean of course there are things I can't do, due to my limited strength, but I would like to think that I KNOW how if I could. Well, you get the point. There has to be a happy medium. But seriously. Men should have the balls to ask a girl out. That's where I draw the line.

Why? Because they have balls. The end.

But don't fool yourself ladies, being able to have a choice in your life in North America is a precious, precious gift. A lot of people like to complain about freedom and the erosion of it here (don't get me wrong, in many ways this is true) but women in parts of the world have nearly NO choice.

I watched something on Discovery Times that made me mad. It was about the custom in Kyrgyzstan about bride kidnapping. Basically if a guy likes a girl he gets his male relatives together and goes and steals a girl off the street. It's a real life kidnapping, the only thing missing is a gun or a sword. They take her to the prospective groom's house where his female relatives try and convince her to stay, using force sometimes. In a nutshell if they can put a headdress on her without her throwing it off, it's a done deal. Sometimes her family will come over and try and convince her to stay too. A few fathers and mothers fought for their kids and brought them home, but the stats say that only 1 in 5 women walk out of situtations like this without being browbeat into submission. It's illegal in Kyrgyzstan but it's such an old practice that it's nearly impossible to enforce.

Freedom is an intensely personal thing, and seeing this kind of CRAP makes me all the more convinced that my way of defending freedom is right for me. Seeing young healthy women, crying their eyeballs out like this made my blood run cold and my fury run hot.

Freedom: treasure it, protect it, claim it, expound it, use it, it's yours, and let no one take it from you!

Holy shit Rod, thats quite the smile you got there, bet you charm the pants off the ladies.

I always love hearing/seeing people talk about equality, then hear things like "men should never hit women" or "because they have balls"

Are people equal? are the races equal? is male the same as female? Is Canada the same as the US?

Want to be equal? lets blow everything up, then we'll all be dead thats the only equality we'll ever have.

I'm sure women can learn to defend themselves very well, There are women in the military, there are stories of them doing great things, but first the have to get over the idea that Men are not suppose to hit them.
