Young Girl Murdered During Night By Devil Cat

I regret to inform you people that the person you know as Jynxgurl has been brutally scratched to death by my Devil Cat named Lucky O'Reilly.

This would be the message posted by my friend whose cat I am babysitting had his attempt at murder been succesfull.

A few days ago I agreed to babysit his cat while he left town for a bit (he wouldn't tell me why he had to go, just that he needed someone to babysit his tempermental cat). So being the nice person that I am and a pet lover I said I would look after it for him. I might add that I did this for free, since he doesn't exactly have alot of spare money (he was actually homeless for a few months a year ago ~_~ but he has a job and an apartment now).

Anyways, this cat has got problems. My friend saved him from his neibors. The cat there had given birth to two kittens, the cute one the kids there fought over and somehow managed to kill the poor thing then moved on to Lucky before my friend intervened and took the poor little thing.

He had flies and was too young to be seperated from its mother so my friend woke up during different times in the night to feed it with a little bottle (yeah he is a really great guy huh?) and paid the vet bills to get the kitten taken care of and fixed the flie problem.

Now 9 months later the cat has got an attitude problem, he hisses and yowls at people other than my friend if they get too close (can't get closer than 3 feet). My friend really loves his devil cat and keeped bragging that the cat can turn door knobs (I didn't belive him).

I knew what I was getting into with this cat but I agreed anyways. So the last few days I have been taking care of the cat and keeping my distance and making sure to close my bedroom door(I did not trust the cat).

Anyways, last night I was sleeping quite peacefully till I was awoken by the pain of getting my face scratched!!!

When I woke up I saw Lucky right by my face hissing and yowling, so I quickly moved away (not before that cat got his nails dug into my arm mind you, my friend has not had the cat's claws clipped so they are very sharp and has a little hook on the end) the claws tore right through my favourite pajama shirt and left some really deep scratchs, which hurt like hell for hours. plus I now have scratch marks on my face that can't be hidden with makeup (I have already tried).

Upon retreat I ran out of the room, shut the door behind me, and baricaded the door (since he managed to get in before I figured my friend must be telling the truth about the cat being able to open doors) and have not opened it since. I am too goddam scared of that cat!!! I am not going to provide another oppurtunity for it to attack!!

Yes it is cruel to keep the cat locked up with no food or water but right now I am fearing too much for myself (I slept on the couch in the living room so I wouldn't have to go in my room. I didn't even have a blanket or pillow and froze my ass off because of it.)

My friend was supposed to pick Lucky up this afternoon but got delayed and won't be here till tomorrow morning. It is cruel to keep the cat there with no food or water and I feel really guilty but scared shitless to let that monster at me.

I keep picturing that crazy, evil cat above my face with his claws extended... That was the single most terrifying thing I have ever experienced... I am certain that that cat can and will kill me if given the chance. My fear of it is bordering on panic, actually I think I am panicking!!!

Lucky is one scary devil cat!!! A very cute orange striped cat, but evil!!! I used to love cats, but now I am started to rethink that position... They have claws, and the claws hurt!!

Still I have to get food and water to that cat somehow, but it is right by the door (I know cuz it took a swipe at my hand when I tried to look under the crack of the door, which almost gave me a heart attack!!) So I can't open and close it quickly.

I have tried making a small bowl of tin foil (rolling up the sides of the foil to make a very shallow bowl) and placed it on the floor and filled it with as much water as I could. When I pushed it under the door that stupid cat attacked it and tore it to shreds, wasting the water.

I also tried putting lids filled with water under the door (hey any water is better than no water) but Lucky attacks them and upturns it, wasting any water once again. I would push food under there but I am afraid that with no water food will make it more thirsty.

So I am at a delima, any advice for dealing with demon cats? I have to give the cat something soon and I am going over in my head how to do so without myself or the cat being injured...

(ps the pic is a cat that has the similar fur coat as Lucky, doesn't look quite the same, but very similar)

Just keep the door closed and don’t feel guilty. You gave the cat a fair chance. There’s no point in you getting mauled again. The cat’s clearly fucked up and you can’t fix it. It’ll survive until tomorrow.

My sister had a devil cat too. I think it was because she played with it incessantly even when it didn’t want to. So it developed an attitude.

If you haven't had a tetanus shot recently, you might want to visit the doctor tomorrow and tell him the story. Cat bites and scratches can be nasty since cats carry many not-so-pleasant germs.

Jenileggs is right! Get a squirt gun or spray bottle filled w/ water. That straightens them right up! I had to do that to my kitten when she would chew literally every power cord (keyboard, mouse, etc) in my house. She finally understood who the boss was.

from the present owner of a herd of cats, good luck kid. mine are kina user friendly mosy of the time, but still occationally scratch and bite. Hang in there, and it will be ok a day or two without water. I would just have the food ready, mixed with some water, and open the door and shove it in reall quick....you'll be fine. (if you're quick enough). lol later

Jynxgurl, I think we need an exorcism. What color is the Devil cats eyes? Oh, don't bother the cat will just open the door and find you. I actually had a cat that opened doors, so I know it's possible. Good luck.
P.S. 911 is the number I have to type below.
