Anyone who lives in jacksonville, NC would know, while the area is spread out, and seems rather large, a city it is not. The place seems to be totally centered around the large Wal-Mart superstore we have. my guess is, at least a third of jacksonville has to be there, every day. The place is always packed. ALWAYS. I guess I'm used to the DC Metro area, where malls were THE place to be. Why? Well, they were pretty huge there. nearly all have an incorperated movie theater in them, not to mention multiple floors. here? Takes like...maybe, at most, 2 minutes to walk from one end to the other of our mall. When we went to Potomac Mills, there's like 500 stores there. yeah, try about....7....8....maybe 11 minutes to get from one end to the other.
Anyways, I'm still out looking for a job, that way I'll have money someday to....spend money. That'd be nice. I guess all the places i want to work at just avoid employing fresh meat like me. I've only held an apprenticeship before, nothing at all like an actual job, but more of a job training program, sponsored by Montgomery county. Basically, i just need the money. I've had to've tried to apply for jobs at like 8 or 9 places now, not even heard back from them, at all. One time, basically the day after i dropped off an application to Books a Million, Books a Million had called, and left a message for an interview...but not for me, apparently someone else who i'd never heard of before, which didnt make me too happy then. i just suppose that working part time here must be so common, no one wants a new part timer. Not to mention a guy. God forbid some guy here wants a job who's not in the military. everywhere i go here, its girls employed, very few guys. Like i said though, i'm probably just used to the maryland way of things, with there being more guys then girls around, and a more porportionate number of single to not single then here. I look around campus, and i feel like i'm the only one NOT married. Its all i hear about. Married couples, couples engaged..yes, thats fine and dandy, but here i am, no one around, in this place, and it seems like all i can make are friends. why? well, everyone seems taken, and i dont feel like coming off as an ass by asking some girl with a ring on their left ring finger if they're actually married, or just wearing one there to ward off single guys (something i wouldn't doubt, i knew alot of people up north who did that..) I mean, heck, a date would be nice. I havent gone on one in.....18 years. But i suppose that wont change any time soon, at this rate any way. back to my music again..and the comic. yay..
