The perils of weight loss and other assorted crap.

Music: Seether "Remedy"

I weighed myself the other day, after a shower. I started my diet this week, which really can't have had an impact YET. My weight, before S left, was 275lbs. I'm now at 235lbs. That's very impressive. It's encouraging, which made me decide last night to get up at 7am this morning and go walking. I ended up briskly walking exactly one mile in about 18-19 minutes. Whew! I feel pretty good for it though. I think I'm going to try it again tomorrow morning, to see if I can handle doing it every day. If I can, chances are I am going to loose a lot more weight. This is EXCELLENT..*rubs hands together evilly*
I'm also going to lift weights every chance I get, if the walks don't wear me down too much. I figure that with the diet, and walking, I should get used to it and be able to manage this without much difficulty after a few weeks. I think the diet is the hardest part, although really the hard part is psychological. I'm not that hungry often, one of the few benefits of the Atkins diet. And it's not like I'm gorging myself on meat either. Omelet with cheese and sausage for breakfast, either a grilled chicken, pork chop, or tuna-salad salad for lunch, and whatever piques my interest for dinner. I need to buy some more meat, and salad, though.

At any rate, so far so good.

“Throw your dollar bills
and leave your thrills all here with me
And speak but don't pretend
I won't defend you anymore you see
It aches in every bone,
I'll die alone, but not for you
My eyes don't need to see
that ugly thing, I know it's me you fear

If you want me hold me back

*chorus*
Frail, the skin is dry and pale,
the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high,
just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, 'You'll be the death of me'

I don't need a friend,
I need to mend so far away
So come sit by the fire
and play a while, but you can't stay too long
It aches in every bone, I'll die alone,
but not for pleasure
I see my heart explode, it's been eroded
by the weather here

If you want me hold me back
*chorus*
Frail, the skin is dry and pale,
the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high,
just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, 'You'll be the death of me'"

On the side of things involving this site, I didn't get to chat to the red-haired cutie last night, but she did give me her phone #, so I'll call this weekend when my minutes are free. We'll see what happens.
I'm not sure if it's my picture (which would suck) or if it's my profile, but I've messaged about 10 or so females who live localy to drop me a note if they'd like to talk or socialize (in any interpretation of the word) and so far I haven't had a single response. I'm begining to wonder if I wrote too much, or made myself sound stupid. OR, maybe I'm just ugly. *thinks for a second* Hmmmmm...that might be it. Well, damn. Not much to do about that. Maybe I should adjust my profile. If anyone reading this has any suggestions, I'd gladly hear them.

Hmmm.

Well, you're not a bad looking guy, and trying to get healthy is always a plus. Don't take not hearing back from women you contact too personally. From what I understand, it happens to the best of us. I don't know if it's just a lack of courtesy or if people are just too busy, but even a "bug off" would be nice, just to know that hte other person got your message. But alas, this is the online world, and it's evidently not so easy. So keep your chin up. You'll find her.

Congrats on your weight loss. That's awesome. Keep up the good work. I'd change diet plans though. Recent studies have shown that the Adkin's diet isn't such a wonderful thing after all. It's causing a lot of health problems due to the high fat. My suggestion: keep exercising, and watch your fat grams instead. Less red meat and more chicken and/or fish is always a good thing, as well as lots of veggies and fruit. Yogurt is a good choice too.

Anyway...enough chatter. Good luck in all your endeavors!

From what science there is behind the diet, the only way fat goes up in a person is if they aren't doing it right. The nature of the diet itself is to eat away at the fat by making your body convert fats and protiens into energy, instead of being carbohydrate dependant, which most people are. This diet, actually, is very closly related to the one most diabetics are on. Another bonus to this diet though, is it helps eat away the LDL cholesterol. But, for every diet plan, there are people that discourage it or say that it's not a good idea. To each their own. *shrug*
I appreciate the kind words. I haven't really had much contact with people on here, so it's nice to see someone actually talking to me. lol
But thanks.
