I just found out - August is organ donut month - are you one?

I don’t know many people in the first person who have had an organ donations (or at least I don’t think I do), but I am an organ donor. I don’t think I will need my body once I am dead, and if it can help someone who needs to keep on living ‒ then I say take whatever you need and donate the rest to science fiction.

My friend’s Dad has a heart from someone who didn’t need it, and he has been around to see his first grandchild. His family gives thanks everyday for the “borrowed time” the family who lost their loved one gave them. This is a miracle within reach of each of us.

A colleague of mine (from some time ago) had cornea transplants and now can see again. Enough said.

The sister of a friend had a cochlear transplant, so I guess even androids can be donors. lol

Have you considered being a donor? Did you know you can get tested and be put onto the register for bone marrow transplants? You can donate this while you are alive. Just like blood. There is a view that donating blood regularly is quite healthy.

I am sure you can find local info on the net if you are interested.

I am an organ donor. I have never donated blood. I am playing sports almost every night and can't afford to start out with any less blood just in case I need it.

I've asked that my body be donated to Area 51 here in Nevada.

I wasnt an organ donor until I had my daughter. After I had her I knew that I would give all my limps if something was to happen to her, which made me think - why not give them to anyone who might need them.

Until later

When Im dead, they can take any part of me, including the whole body as long as it goes to the betterment of humanity. Ie organ donation or my body goes to a medical college.

When I'm dead, this shell of flesh means absolutely nothing. My friends and loved ones will remember me, and the essence that is me shall move on to the next stage. The physical collection of materials has nothing to do with anything.

I USED to be big into blood donations (I'm O pos), I was a member of the gallon club. That means you donate a pint EVERY chance you get, and by the end of the year you've donated over a gallon of blood. However after my grandmother (who I lived with) was diagnosed with hepetitus they stopped wanting me to donate. I haven't been diagnosed with it, and I have been checked, but they say its a risk they don't want to take, so they don't ask for my blood anymore.

I agree. After all, we can't take our bodies with us, and I don't really want to take mine...

Oops - sorry, I missed this.

I think that you should if you want to, but don't have to if you don't want to. However, there are never enough organs to go around.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
