Over worked and underpayed!

Why is it that large corporations are continuing to post even bigger and bigger profits yet the average workers salary has not significantly increased. I work in an industry where the workers salary is being cut 5, 10, and even some cases 20% at a time. This is all done in the name of the company to save them from going belly up. What about the executives salary? Do you think they would sacrifice their earnings. Heck no! If it came to that they would sell off the company and get out. Lucky for them they have that luxoury but what about their workers. Its a free system but also a messed up one. How do you regulate/control or insure ethical conduct. Well dont look to the government. At least not in its currrent state. There is this thing called minimum wage. It would be nice for those that rely on this minimum salary to survive if we increased it ever so often so that it keeps pace with the cost of living. If we cant rely on our government to do the right thing how can we expect even more power hungry, money worshipping suits to do right. This is merely a rant. I am not proposing a solution or better yet a plan for a solution. The solution is simple. The difficult part is how do we achieve this goal.
Everyone who is overworked and underpayed give us some advise or just rant and rave.

Finally a day off! I haven't had one of theese in two weeks and can't remember when the previous one was. All I want to do is absolutely nothing, know what I mean, but that would be a waste. I did go out last night for a few drinks with some friends to unwind from the work weeks. For a few hours I actually felt normal again, what it was like to have a life outside of work. I'm not complaining, wait, yes I am! I am working my ass off now so that I wont have to work as much in the future and still be finaniacly secure. Lets hope thats the way it works.
Is it worth killing yourself now in order to be succesfull down the road or is it better to enjoy life to the fullest now and sacrifice some future success?
