Desperate Guys

So I was looking around at some group discussion pages on AdultFriendFinder and I found one that was titled something like "Girls Who Like Watching Guys Cum."
This seems like a reasonable idea. People like to watch others. People like to be watched while they masturbate (it brings it one step closer to actual sex). I'm no stranger to the idea. I've had a regular phone sex partner before.
What I do find really ridiculous about this group is that the men outnumber the women at a 10 to 1 ratio. Each post from any woman (of any shape, size, or age) was followed by ten different guys offering their services. Some of them were responding more than an hour after the original post. Some were trying to out bid one another for the attention of the prospective voyeur. There was bragging about one's 'productivity' and what parlour-tricks one would perform with their seed.
I can't help but think that the vast majority of these gents found themselves masturbating alone in front of their webcams, hoping that someone would turn on to it.
This is complimented by the fact that everytime I look around the live webcam list there are always a ton of men broadcasting and each has either 0 or 1 viewers.

Man are generally at a disadvantage in this environment. There is almost an overwhelming amount of competition and limited amounts of intriguing females. Thus, men do seem to sell themselves at every oppurtunity (hence cock shots in profiles, and descriptions teeming with more self-hype than a hiphop record). But this seems like a new low for this sort of disparity.

So I guess my main question is gender-divided. Men: Do you ever have any luck with such obvious pandering?
Women: Is there even that much interest in watching a man (from the navel to the knees) masturbate themselves to completion?

I'm curious. Please enlighten me.

Did I offend anyone, or is this just not as interesting to anyone else?
