Things I've always wondered about.

How come they call it "common" sense, when it is one of the most uncommon commodities around?

Where did the term "near miss" come from? If you nearly miss something, doesn't that mean you hit it?
Shouldn't the term be "near hit"?

Anyone who thinks "ignorance is bliss" has obviously never been surrounded by it.

Where do women keep that damn rule book. You know the one I mean. The one that apparently changes on a purely random schedule.

Some wise person once said, "The desire to hold public office should be the absolute disqualification to do so." and I have never been able to fault the logic.

Did you ever notice that the two groups who are most adamantly opposed to strip clubs, sex shops and pornography in general hate each other with a burning passion. Yep, the liberals and the religious fanatics. Apparently, the liberals are convinced that exposure to these things is what creates sexual predators and the religious fanatics are positive that even thinking about sex will send you straight to Hell. V-e-e-e-e-ry strange bedfellows indeed.

How do you get a record to play backwards? I'm pretty savvy with electronics and stereo equipment and I don't know how. Have these cretins figured out how to make a CD play backwards?

Who decides what's "cool"? I never knew when I was in High School and, as I've grown older, I've discovered that apparently nobody else does either. Is there a "coolness central" someplace that issues regular bulletins and I somehow never managed to get on the mailing list?
