I love it when it rains.

I love it when it rains. It’s like the world taking a shower. The clouds start building up from the west and slides in over the mountains. The wind begins to pick up and then a wall of dust moves in. It’s here, the first portion of the storm makes it’s presents on the face of the earth. When the winds subside the rain takes over. It first starts with a little sprinkle, then it turns into light shower. Finally hell is unleashed, buckets of rain come down for hours. God I love it. The smell of the desert after a good rain storm will last for hours. The smell is unbelievable. The pollution in the air is gone. The streets are clean and the plants and trees appear to be raising their branches to the sky as if they were saying thank you. I find myself outside standing in rain as if I were still a small child. My boys are on either side of me walking down the street. We wear our flip flop sandals so we can walk down the street along the curb. The ice cold water is well up over our ankles. I see my neighbors looking at me as if I were crazy and then the kids in the neighborhood join us. Now I know their parents have to thinking I truly don’t like that man. I’m the big kid on the block and really don’t mind what they think of me. It’s all about having fun and enjoying what life has to offer. And did I mention that the rain is free. It didn’t cost me a cent. I wish people would allow themselves the opportunity to enjoy what life has to offer without worrying about what others might think about them. Why is it when you get older you’re not suppose to have fun anymore as if you were still a kid? Are we so caught up with the perception of who we are suppose to be that we are not allowed to have fun anymore? I just wish people would let their hair down and have fun for a while. Before we know it we will be to old to even think about walking or playing outside in the rain. The last time I checked, I didn’t melt when I was out playing in the rain.

Being a Native NW person...I absolutely love the rain...and playing in it too! (I'll never grow up....why should I?)

Great Spring post!

Somehow tiller I already knew that about you. I can only image what it would be like playing in the rain with you, and what a sight that would be. I hope you are having a great day.

Being a native Arizonan, I love the rain, especially when it rains really hard so you can't see. I love going outside in it and getting soaked and splashing in the puddles. I hope to find a man who enjoys it as much as I do. I love the smell of the desert right before and just after a rain, love watching it come in in the vast sky, trying to guess which part of the valley is enjoying the grey sheet of water before it gets to my house.

Thats beautiful! I can see myself being one of those "kids" who came running to join you, taking your hand, as we walked down the street!
Never stop having fun sweetie. (And who cares what others think, i'd have to stop breathing before that happens!)
Cheers! Stay wet...................
