01.47 Pump ambulance rescue unit to RTA( road traffic accident) between car and articulated truck. Arrive there Two occupants of car trapped in car. Quick assement of situation, we have to cut the roof off to get access. This is a frightening experience as its noisy and with firemen holding there heads steady in case of spinal injury. After the roof was removed we then had to place both occupants on spinal board( mostly as precaution) and removed to hospital. Back to station about an hour later

03.39 Pump and ambulance to woman lying on floor in her hallway. Got there woman lying against the front door unconscious. Only way in break front window to get access. Do that and get in to find the woman totally out of it due to drink. When we finally get her awake she abuses us tell us to f--k off. The gratitude we get

04.55 2 pumps and ambulance to a house fire no occupants. Arrive to find flames coming out the front upstairs window. Two firefighters in breathing apparatus with small hose. Not a big job to get it out .But all furniture was badly burned and had to be thrown out the window .But at least everyone was out. The probably cause of fire was an electric blanket

06.06 two pumps to Factory fire alarm activation. Get there alarm going off no sign of fire so its wait for key holder to arrive and check that’s its an alarm fault. Ahhh hating waiting around.

07.10 Two pumps to a truck on fire on the motorway. Get there and find the truck ablaze with the contents also on fire. It was carrying large rolls of paper. Another of my hates because its really hard to put the fire. This was going to take a long time and on the motorway. Loads of traffic problems as well. We were due to finish at 09.00 but were still at the truck on fire at that time. A relief crew arrived at 09.15. Whew that was a busy night I was soooo tired .Bed sounds a beautiful proposition

Hope this helps you understand the work we do, the dangers we live with everyday.
Hope you all stay safe and well

Love firehotxxxxxxxxx

hey fire...found your blog as I as reading blogs....as many have said..thanks for being there, doing wk you do.
Two wks ago my mom caught her kitchen on fire frying fish. It's just AMAZING HOW FAST the smoke/heat damages things in home.thankfully, she had a smoke alarm and GOT OUT. God...I'm sooooo thankful for that as only 1 mom!!!
all is well.insurance has been great to her. It'll take 3 mo to repair damage from smoke/heat.
