Writing

Since I live alone, I have a lot of time to sit and ponder about things that are going on around me. I spend a lot of my free time, reading, watching movies or writing poetry when the weather doesn't permit me to be outside. So I have a very creative imagination at times, but then I get to these stages that I can't think of anything to write about. And it drives me up the wall. Some days, I can't put my pencil down other days it's like pulling teeth.

In the summer time, it's even worse because I want to be outside every chance I can get, whether it be riding horses, going camping and all that entails, or just going for a walk in the great outdoors.

When I get the nerve to write, it always seems to be the time that I don't have any paper or a pencil to write with. So I'm stuck with all these ideas in my head and I can't concentrate on what I'm doing or else by the time I find a piece of paper and a pencil, I have totally lost my ideas. How aggravating!!

Anyway, does this happen to you a lot? If Writing isn't your thing, what aggravates you?

I am not a serious enough writer that I need this, but I was told that one of the things you can do when you have those thoughts and want to get them down is to get one of those voice recorders that you can store messages... and record the thought, and then try to recapture the idea later when it is convenient to write.

I should probably do that, if only my writing was important enough to warrant that kind of effort.

Writing is a release for me. I used to have the problem you're describing, but at some point something snapped and words became almost like the pencils I wrote with-- just tools to get the message out.

One thing that helped me was to carry a little recorder around and speak my ideas into it. I could play it back in the evenings and on slow days, and pretty soon I was writing.

What kind of writing do you want to do?

I write for a living and I just keep mulling over what I want to put in the word processor....Carry a little notebook and pen with you to jot down notes....

It works..

What aggrivates me more is my loss of memory at times...getting old

I'm not a serious writer myself however I have two tips for you I've used for life in general and I think they relate to writing too.
1) Never forget your roots, never forget where you came from it is who you are and whether you like it or not its always going to be a part of you.
2) Things are easier when you recognize your muse, whether its your family, A close group of Friends whom you consider Family your your boyfriend or just someone you like to be around there's always that person or persons who always seem to bring out the best in you whether they're trying to or not.
