Words

"Mom, why don't you wear the ring that Dad put on your finger when he married you?"

Innocent words of a son to his mother. And I thought he, at 5, did not notice such.

You are so right Daniel. At the time, I just changed the subject, and shuffled on to the next activity. There will a time in the next couple of months for a very serious discussion as to why Daddy nolonger lives in the same house.

I have no doubt that you are strong and your son will have a fair, honest answer appropriate for him. He is lucky to have you.

i can barely remember the time when my sons were that age, but i do remember the way i felt when asked the same question! heart wrenching and made me feel guilty for not being a better example. but ive realized that lifes too short to look back on our mistakes and wonder what we could have done differently. its a harsh world out there and as hard as we try to protect our children from the pitfalls of life, sometimes we fail! all we can do is hope that they grow up to be responsible, healthy, happy and productive adults. keep your chin up ~E~! and know that there are others that have been thru the same thing and can ofer some solice to you! kisses to you!
