So why is it people just quit talking to people? I'm not just talking about guys, I'm referring to people in general.
So many times there have been people I've chatted with online - some are friends from way back when, some are acquaintances, some are just chat buddies.

But here's something I just don't get.
Sure, some people I talk to don't have a lot of time, but if I send an offline message saying hi and asking how it's going, usually within a few days, I get an offline message in return saying something to the effect of, "I've been busy, but I'm doing great. How are you?"
What I don't understand is total and complete silence. A friend I've talked to recently comes online, I say hi, and get no response. Hmmm..ok I can understand if said friend is busy, but seriously, how long does it take to type, "Sorry, can't talk now, busy with stuff, talk later?" Honestly, I understand if you're busy. I really do. But what's with the ignoring me?
Or how 'bout this...I send an email to a friend asking what's up...did I piss him/her off, did I do something to offend them...WHAT?
I can wait a few days for a response. I'm not that impatient, but shouldn't it be courtesy to write back?

The same can be said for phone calls too I guess. I call someone, leave a message, then it takes them a week to get back to me. Hmmm...really, with cell phones, home phones, answering machines, voice mail, email...can't people find one minute in their busy day to return a phone call?
Or is society just so blasé about common courtesy???
That's just my rant for this evening.
