This morning, as read other people’s blogs, I read about underappreciated songs, the future of this world and our children’s legacy, people hurting others emotionally and physically and people pushed to the brink in so many ways.

This song leapt to mind as I spent my morning. It was by a band named Moving Pictures. As a song it is moving and beautiful, but it also reads as a story of our lives.

Hope you enjoy…..

Well there's a little boy waiting at the counter of the corner shop
He's been waiting down there, waiting half the day,
They never ever see him from the top
He gets pushed around, knocked to the ground,
He gets to his feet and he says...

What about me? It isn't fair
I've had enough, now I want my share
Can't you see, I wanna live
But you just take more than you give

Well, there's a pretty girl serving at the counter of the corner shop
She's been waiting back there, waiting for a dream,
Her dreams walk in and out, they never stop
Well, she's not too proud, to cry out loud
She runs to the street and she screams...

What about me? It isn't fair
I've had enough, now I want my share
Can't you see, I wanna live
But you just take more than you give

Take a step back and see the little people
They might be young, but they're the ones that make the big people big
So listen as they whisper:
"What about me?"

And now I'm standing on the corner, all the world's gone home
Nobody's changed, nobody's been saved
And I'm feeling cold and alone
I guess I'm lucky, I smile a lot
But sometimes I wish for more than I've got...

sometimes you just got to jump in and take what you want...

You are the captain of your destiny. It's hard sometimes when people actively oppose your dreams. You have to fight that much harder to make them come true.

Yes, I was a New Wave Punk freak of the eighties. I still am. I just don't have the sideways haircut any more.

That song reminded me of Martina McBride, "Concrete Angel"

Another song that made me cry the first time I heard it.

I remember that song. Been a long time since I've heard it. I could really relate to it back then and in reading the words - I still can, just for different reasons now. Listen as they whisper...

Whisper, I did think of you as I posted that one. I wish they would play it on the radio. I did so love that song.

Thanks for reminding me of that song I always loved it because it did remind me of my life, and now it reminds me of today - I should have ran to the streets and shouted but instead I just sat back and smiled....what else could I do? Thanks for commenting on my blog its nice to know that someone still reads it.

My pleasure on both counts. I love reading the blogs of attractive, intellegent ladies. And your blog definitely qualifies.
