Escape (if only for a while)

This has been a crazy, hectic week. Beside a screaming match at home on Wednesday and a whiney employee at work, I have been running all over Michigan it seems, running errands. I needed to get the tax info to our CPA which involved running 50 miles each way. Get the kids to their games, buy groceries, do the dishes, the laundry and clean the kitchen. Anyway, without boring you with the details, this week was hell.
On my way to work today I passed a park. Something in me said “hey slow down” so I pulled into the parking lot. I got out and walked over to the swings and sat there for about a half hour swinging and not thinking about life. Just spending time with myself.
No thoughts of deadlines. No thoughts of a rocky home life. No thoughts of what am I going to do about this or that. No thoughts except what a nice day it is and how the world was getting along just fine without me right now, thank you. Just the breeze in my face and I “wasted” time that I should be doing something else with.
Eventually I had to leave the park and get back back to my life. But it was nice to be ten again.

That sounds like a perfect ending for a not-so-perfect week. I hope the rest of the day was as good.

It's never a waste of time to do something nice for ourselves...and it sounds like you deserve a lot more than just a few minutes on the swings, my friend.

kind thoughts,
Moonfire

I kinda did that today, after I put two of my residents to bed, I sat with them in there darkened room, with nothing going and just closed my eyes and kinda relaxed for a minute. Not as good as a park, but it worked.

Moonfire, I would have loved to have played hookey the whole day. Unfortunately, I did have a life to get back to. I do plan on taking more "me" time in the future though.

H-N-B. Somtimes alone in the dark can be relaxing. Especially if you like who you are with.

Tillerbabe -swinging is always nice, no matter the who, what or why.
