Being alone, being lonely.

There's a big difference!

I love to be alone, but I hate being lonely.

Being alone with my own thoughts, being alone with my own company is precious time to me. I work in a busy environment, people are always around. I enjoy a busy social life (when I want it). So time alone is something I always try to get once a week. Time with no one else around. Time where I can just shutdown and do my own thing.

Being lonely on the other hand is a terrible thing. You can be lonely in a crowd of people. You can feel isolated, different, or simply "not there" with no one or everyone around you. I've been there and it's not a nice place to be. Fortunately I haven't 'been there' for a long time now, and I hope to never 'be there' again.

Wishing you all the aloneness you want, but never loneliness.

The photograph is shot looking across Bosworth Battlefield, This field was the main camp for King Richard's forces before battle. (I just liked the arrangement and colours of the trees.)

hbgirl I hear you about the kids. An ex-girlfriend had three boys and getting any time alone when we lived together was virtually impossible
