la langue etrangere

No, I'm not talking about tongue splitting.

So I was nursing a Guinness, hanging out at a sidewalk "beergarden," when I overheard a woman at a table nearby. She had a pleasant enough voice, but it was the Russian accent with which it was spiced that got me all randy. Later, though, it seemed funny. What's sexy about an accent? Yet I find some of them extremely sexy (and others not). In fact, I even like sort of like to speak and hear a little French while fooling around. (For some reason this is an embarrassing revelation for me.)

Anyway, it's poll time, girls and boys? Do you find some accents sexy, and if so, which ones?

My faves: French, Irish, Greek, Romanian, Russian, New York

My antifaves: Appalachian, east and south Asian, Bostonian

If I can list an antifav ... it would have to be Ebonics.

Favorite ... anything laced with lust and intelligence.

i like foreign accents but not states' accents. cant stand people from new jersey or chicago or anywhere. also, living in south florida, i have had enough of the spanish accent (hypocritical, since i am latin myself, but i have lived here my whole life and speak english perfectly). i cannot bring myself to talking in spanish when i am doing it. it actually turns me off.
however, a guy with a foreign accent starts off ahead of everyone else in my book, but only if they mix in their language with english. italian and french are hot (i can speak them both myself, so its a way for me to flirt more). but i think the sexiest for me is russian. its hot. if a russian guy started talking to me and i know he has that one thing in mind, i think i might wait a total of 15 minutes before pouncing on him.
definately, guys who speak foreign languages and have accents are hot.

I've always loved English and Aussie accents. And I'd have to agree with DirtyLilSecret... anything laced wtih lust and intellegence. Great way to put it.

I like accents, English, Aussie, Southern. But even more important is the content of what is being said. Just the accent in not enough.

Goldenhair--absolutely. For me, that applies even more broadly. I remember an incident from college. This extremely cute girl had been giving me the glad eye, and when I ran into her at a party, I thought, "Aha, my lucky night!" So I walk up and started chatting with her. Bad idea. Within about five minutes I realized that, despite the sparkle in her eye, she was as dumb as (if not dumber than) a mud pie. I also realized that there was no way I was going to get busy with her on account of that.

After that, she no longer seemed quite so cute to me.

No, if only I can figure out how to cast my speech with lust and intelligence . . .

connor LOL I'm enjoying perusing your blog. And was about to go to your last post and ask if you had a Scottish accent, when I came upon this post.

I don't appreciate the accents found on the eastern seaboard. Having grown up in New Jersey and New York, I can still hear my grandmother asking for something in the fridgeadaire, or let's go to Conney Island on LonG (very harrrd G) Island, or to my brother..."Did you flush the turlet?" ugh
I totally melt with a Scottish brogue and find French, Italian, Irish, English, Russian, and German so entrancing. (is it getting hot in here? *swiftly leaves*)

I love an Irish or Scottish brogue...even English/Cockney depending on intelligence levels ...lol.

The rest I can take or leave, really
