cave crickets..agents of hell,or nature's fuck-up?

So, almost everyday when I get home from work, I will go to the kicthen, and check the glue traps. Not for mice, but for something much, much worse. CAVE CRICKETS AKA Camel crickets, spider crickets, hoppers, or my favorite name, "Goddamnits", because that is what I scream everytime I see one. Apparently, they love basements and sheds, anywhere it's dark. They look like the things in Starship Troopers, those big bugs. I love when they get stuck in the trap. I keep it there, so I can walk by and yell,"got you, mother fucka!!" and do a little kill dance. Came home and another one was stuck in there, trying to figure out why his other friends were just sitting there, hanging out. That makes 12 kills. I love it. That's 12 goddamnits that didn't make it into the inner relm of my 3 room apartment. Go me. If you leave work early, because you honestly do not feel well, and you go home, take some Advil and rest, and then in feel much better, are you allowed to go out that night? What if you run into someone from work? What if it's a movie or Blockbuster? Is that better than out at a bar on a game night? Or at KFC? I'm not saying I got "seen", but what if I had? I'm in a wicked small town and all. OOO, it's late. Gotta take my Tylenol pm and hit the sheets. bye.

You know what is so creepy about them? They Jump! And you don't know which way they are gonna jump and yes they totally look like those Starship Troopers bugs. I just use a "Chemical Ali" approach and spray them all. Knocks them down for a good month or two.

WTF! I just googled a picture of a cave-cricket. Goddamit!

OK, they are herbivores, but they are ugly and VERY mobile...

Y'know, if you had a pet lizard, snake, tarantula or some other predator, they would love you to bits for feeding them those muthas. People pay good money at pet-shops for that kind of protein

I know, but I'd wind up unintentionally killing it, I just know it. I don't even have plants, that's how irresponsible I am. Plus, I got to NY a lot. But, I'm telling you, they look great in my glue trap!! If only I knew how to download, or is it up load? Whatever for you will...

It's unfortunate that a lot of weird people keep those sorts of pets, but whilst these animals are 'exotic' in their set-up, they are also the most low-maintenance in terms of feeding and 'grooming'.

Oh, and don't let anybody tell you reptiles and insects don't have character and 'moods'. I had a 4ft, black/yellow Californian Kingsnake and she had her 'PMT' whilst shedding and her first-thing-in-the-morning cuddly moods too (when she wrapped herself around my bare waist, inside my dressing gown).

Go befriend a non-mammal. It's fun

I'm telling you...low maintenence is still maintenence!!! I've never had a pet, and I don't want to start now. It's just not my gig, yo! I don't want to come home from work and find something dead in here. I'm not a huge wildlife fan, and I've got enough fun with humans to last several cat's lives....
