In case you hadn't heard, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers scored 81 points in a game last night against the Toronto Raptors in Los Angeles. Read that again - eighty-one points. His team finished with 122 I believe.
He had 26 at halftime, 27 in the 3rd quarter and 28 in the fourth quarter! Wilt Chamberlain is the only man to ever score more points in a game, scoring 100 points even one night long ago in a game played in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Michael Jordan's career high was 69. Kobe had 81. This number boggles my mind - I am literally having a meltdown trying to comprehend someone scoring so many points in a game. I once scored 28 points in a game and I felt like I owned the floor, I can't imagine how I'd feel after scoring 81! And Kobe scored that same 28 in one quarter!
Wow. I'm not a huge Kobe fan, but I have to stand and tip my hat to the man.
