stuck in the 80's

Lord have mercy.

Some people are perpetually stuck in a time warp, (again).

A patient at the hospital where I am employed, has one of those hairstyles that went by way of the dinosaur. Although, every once in a while, you'll still get a glimpse of one. I find myself staring at him like I would stare at an auto accident. It's horrible, but, one just has to slow down and look...

If you're anything like me, the very thought of said hairstyle sends shivers down the spine. Why in the hell are people still sporting them??

Uh huh. Business in the front, party in the back.

The Mullet.

Yes, I said THE MULLET.

Without a doubt, the stupidest hairstyle known to man. Who in the HELL invented it?? They should be shot. Actually, shooting them is too quick, for the pain this particular hairstyle brings...

But WHY WHY WHY are people still wearing that style??? It's ridiculous. It's dated. It's hideous. It's gross.

What prompted, (or prompts), someone to want that hairstyle? One reason is lack of fashion sense. But, the real reason is...........

OK, so you think... "hmmmmm... have to look professional at work. Short hair. Natch."

Buuuuuuuuuuut, chicks LOVE long hair. "Hmmmmm. ok, so I cut it short in front for work, what about the chicks? I'm gonna grow it out in the back. They love it."

Uhhhhhhhh... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Dear God, no.

And you know what? The Mullet exists even here. In A.F.F. land. I know for a fact they do. How do I know this? Because I've been contacted by a few of these very stylish creatures. Pic included. And, after I laugh til I fall to the floor, the emails are deep-sixed.

I think there should be an organization. The AMA - Anti Mullet Association. Sort of like FEMA is supposed to work. See a mullet, send money for a REAL haircut.

To all you Mullet-wearers out there... run, don't walk to your nearest barber. Tell him you don't want to look like an asshole anymore!

WHAT????? You do not like the "Joe Dirt DO"? LMAO I loved that was so stupid but so true to the 80's!!! What about the 90 mph. hair that the ladies wore with a can and a half of AquaNet for added hold????

God, I am old!

I'm sure glad I was a "grown-up" in the '80s... I had the "normal" long hair in high school, but ever since the first day in Navy boot camp (June 1975) I've kept it short... not buzz-cut short, but short enough so that I don't have to spend a lot of money at the barber. It takes awhile to grow!

I think some people are very hard pressed to change, no matter what society had done around them. They like who they are, and think if they change anything (including clothing ), they'll stop being who they are. But I agree, the mullet is a bit long in

they blame the mullet on Def Leppard but im sure it was around before their time.

I also heard guys will keep the hairstyle with which they got the most pussy. If these party fools got lucky in the 80's (somehow, wasnt it stupid then too?) but not much any other time, they may be hanging onto it hoping for the resurgence of the Mighty Mullet!

I've used this story in a comment a couple of times but fits here also. About 6 months ago, a bunch of friends got together to go see Def Leppard. One of the guys went to the extent to grow a mullet prior to the concert. What a sight. 4 guys, 1 with a mullet, in my little white convertible with the top down. What a site. The funniest part, is there were a bunch of guys with mullets there.

Billy Ray Cyrus had the greatest mullet of all time. The 'Mother of All Mullets', if you will.

I still see them quite a bit at the casino. They're also still quite the rage at NASCAR events. Lots of lesbians continue to be big on mullets too. I personally wouldn't wear one, but they're loads of fun to talk about!

Hope you're ready for some karaoke at Mugs'n'Jugs, Buccfann. I'm sure you'll see a few mullets there! BTW, Kingsnake said you have great legs and I'm looking forward to seeing you show them off!

sigh. and in the 80's I had the mullet with the back permed. Of course I didnt get much action in the 80's come to think of it.

Sorry Jesus, I shall have to forgo the mission at this time.
