I'm impressed with myself

Yep, I am. And proud of myself, too. Only took me forty nine years to finally "git 'er dun".

What am I talking about?

Heh. I brought it up in an earlier post. I will reiterate, though...

SheiKra carries riders up 200 feet at 45 degrees, then hurtles them 70 mph back toward the ground at a 90-degree angle. It is the first coaster of its kind in the Americas and only the third in the world.

SheiKra is the first dive coaster to incorporate an Immelmann loop, a water feature, and a second 90-degree 138-foot drop through an underground tunnel. SheiKra also includes a 360-degree climbing carousel. 3,188 feet of steel track offers a total ride time of just over three minutes. You must be 54 inches tall to ride SheiKra and other safety restrictions may apply.

Yep, I bit the big one and rode SheiKra. I had to. You know, face the fears and all that stuff...

And, I did.

Now, I'm not going to say I wasn't scared. Hell no. 'Cause I was. My heart was pounding, and my palms were sweaty. Unfortunately, I had a few beers before getting on this thing. I can honestly say it was a wrong move on my part. Liquid courage is not the way to go. Not with those drops.

But yeah, anyway, I did it. Kept my eyes closed the whole time, but, I did it.

Will I do it again? Yea, I think so. I'd like to try it without the liquid courage, to see what it's really like...

Besides, I need to find my stomach. It's there somewhere....

I am very proud of you, bucfannn and your conquiring of your fear, even if it was after some adult beverages. And I like you, would want to do it again to see what it is like in "real life". I have never met a coaster that I didn't like. Hope you tell your niece about your success, and maybe she will follow her "auntie".

Thank you, darlin'. It's something I had to do.

And, I did call my niece. Right after I got off that coaster. She said, "OMG, Auntie. I'm PROUD OF YOU! And, jealous, too..."

So, who knows. Maybe she and I will do it together...

Way to go !!! I've heard some stories from others who have rode SheiKra. I love coasters but haven't made it their yet (only been in Fl. a little over a year). But I don't think I'd do it with the liquid courage. LOL

Thank you, sweetie.

You need to go to Busch Gardens. Ifn you like coasters, you'll love it there.

Can I help you look for your stomach?....I am sure I can locate it somehow...LOL

congrats Kat!! I havent tried it yet, but it is on my list of things to do. Guess it is time I broke down and bought a year pass to BG so that I can go whenever I want.

Going to M&G next weekend??

PS - always better to ride those things sober. You have a tendency to lose the contents of your stomach (in your case it was the entire stomach) when you do that. oh well...live and learn...

Oh boy, Scott. The feeling was HIDEOUS. From the first drop on. My poor stomach. I think it's right where you go upside down. That's when I felt it leave my body....

Yep, I'll be there next saturday. Wouldn't miss it

See you then...

Hey Cat,

I can relate. I rode that damn thing the week after it opened. I have always had an intense fear of heights, and I have always been compelled to face it, but the anxiety almost kills me. I can't stand the feeling of losin my stomach when I am in free-fall. Once I've done it though, I don't have the fear again. I've beaten the 'demon'. That's empowering.

BTW, that wooden coaster they have there is really scary, if you want a better thrill, and the one in the 'Egytian' area is better as well. (I was kinda' disappointed in 'SheiKra'.)

rm_bucfannn replies on 6/3/2006 11:05 pm:
ah, noooooooooooooo. SheiKra scared me enough. I may try it once more, (sans the beer), but, I have NO desire to ride any others.

I'm forever a wimp, it seems...
