Sound familiar? For those that are historically challenged, it is the first paragraph of "The Declaration of Independence" (the resolution that declared the original colonies were free from Great Britain over 200 years ago.)

One of the most interesting opportunities I've had in my life was to sit on a committee in Canada that was supposed to be a sort of "Think tank" to brain storm for ways to reconstruct a society in the event of a nuclear holicost. Its probably the only thing responsible for what little sympathy I have for what the Bush Administration is trying to accomplish in Iraq. Its not as easy of a job as one may think.
Thank our lucky stars they weren't responsible for the construction of our government a couple of hundred years ago or where would Americans be today?

Needless to say, we had some very interesting discussions as a part of this committee. Some of the committee members have written books and manuscripts on the subject. This is really my first time writing about it. There may be a book idea here somewhere, I don't know.

Anyway, I've been brainstorming ever since about a new social order that would work. I keep coming back to a free society where everyone plays the role they were put on this earth to play and shares their gifts and talents that the love to do with the rest of the world. But because so many people are selfish and many aren't self motivated to get up and do what they KNOW they can do to make a contribution to society, someone would have to hold them accountable for their responsibilities. Then I project the society to eventually reflect something along the order of the world we live in now.

I'm certainly not looking forward to World War 3 nor any type of human self destruction, but all indications seem to point in that direction these days. It seems too many people are comfortable with divide and conquer in this world for a complete shift in paradigm to occur without the destruction of the world as we know it. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

In the meantime, do you have any ideas of how we can fix this thing called Humanity?

If we could all have what we all want by sharing all that we all have to give, what would you share?

What role would you play?

If you could design a new paradigm of experience for humanity, a new society would it work?

Do you think it would it work?

Perhaps if we all stopped being so damn greedy, it would be a start to fixing what ails us. Stop trying to keep up with the Joneses. Stop believing that we can only be happy having what our neighbors, friends and relatives have. Be satisfied that you can pay your basic necessities, put food on the table and buy your kid a toy or two, not the entirety of Toys R Us.

I would share my ability to stretch a dollar to it hollers "Uncle". Clipping coupons, looking for the sales and deals, thrift stores and rummage sales, all great ways to make a dollar be a dollar these days.

No greed, no THING and no ONE better than the other. Everyone an equal, making an equal contribution for the good of everyone. The sanitation worker valued as much as the doctor as much as the actor as much as the dairy farmer, et al. Parents raising their own children. Like I said above, having what we need to be comfortable and being happy with it.

I LOVE IT, LOVE IT! But see, in my system, there would be no money or currency of any type to exchange. The exchange would be our talents and abilities, one for another in order to provide the necessities and the luxuries. So, for instance.... I would call on you because you could find the farm where I can get chicken to fry and watermelon at the same time!

In my world the parents would be back in charge of their kids. It might sound corny but......families would be families again....meaning that the parents would take time out to help their kids with homework.....they would take their kids to the park....they would have family dinners together....they would not only show their kids that they love them but they would also tell them. Parents would be more supportive of their kids....sit down and watch movies with them.....just basically spend time with their kids. If you don't where i'm going with this...which I know you do........OUR KIDS ARE THE FUTURE. If we spend more time trying to show them the good things in life, maybe our world would be a lot better. See the things that I talked of don't require money to do...all it takes is a little caring and understanding.

Thanks for your comment, tastee. It was delicious and I agree with you. Just as long as we expose them to the not-so-good as well, so they don't become spoiled by partial reality. Now what I want to know is... when can I come over and CREATE SOME tastee FUTURE with you?

You must have bumped your damn head or forgot who's blog you were responding to. Check again and FIND OUT! I don't want to have to put you on public blast in BLOGLAND. You know full well that whatever energy you can produce, I can match or exceed, so don't front. And don't talk about about it?? Who had an job interview today and couldn't link up on the same night she posted this comment? HMMMM????
