Want a drink?

Evian Is Naive Spelled Backwards

The guy who decided to market bottled water was a genius. Who would have ever thought you could take a product that was basically free and get millions and millions of people to pay for it? It's akin to selling air. And today it's a multi-billion dollar business.

Do you buy bottled water?

Our PTA bought water bottles for the students last year and I bought one for myself. I wash it faithfully every night and fill it at least ten times during the day. Technically, we do pay for water. Whether you live in a city and have a water bill or have a well and use electricity to pump it out, nothing is free these days.

Fact 1.Evian Is Naive Spelled Backwards...Of course I knew that.

Fact 2.Because of where I live, the cleanest Air,the Freshest water,I get my water from the tap. There are no chemicals added to our water to kill off the bugs and bacteria our water is clear, clean and crisp.

1. I expected that because you know EVERYTHING.

2. You're lucky. Here in south Florida, we're rapidly running out of potable water.

I might buy a bottle if I am out and about rather than Diet Coke, but I don't buy it for home. I was over a friend's house and he was saying, "Have you tried this Dasanti water? It is really good!" Pfft! To me, bottled water is bottled water.

What? You're not a water connoisseur? How gauche.

Yes, I do...because most municipal water supplies are contaminated with ionic particulates that are bad for you. As much water as I drink, it's the smart things to do. Not nearly as smart as quitting smoking, but what the hell...at least I do SOMETHING that's good for me.

If you do the math, bottled water costs about twice what gasoline costs (depending on where and how you buy each of them). It used to be about 8 times the cost of gas, but water has come down and gas has gone up.

Although only ~2% of the Earth's water is fresh water, there is still WAY more of it than there is crude oil and it's much more easily accessible...especially if we tapped into the free-floating icebergs that could potentially affect global warming. [image]

Naive is eviaN no matter how you spell it.

This was a very long answer to a very short post. All that was required here was a simple yes or no.

Yes I do buy bottled water.....the water supply for my town is disgusting. I do have a purifier on my tap so that it filters out all the nasty taste from our town water.

I usually buy bottled water to take to work with me or to school for when I'm in class.

I have some oceanfront property here in Florida for sale if you're interested. All you need to do is build up 300 stories and, on a clear day you can see the ocean. You can wash the windows with Disani.

That's a long way to go for a drink of water.

BTW, is it true the water goes counter clockwise down the drain in Australia?

I have studied this phenomenon, and my belief is that it has nothing to do with Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere. We are all spinning the same way......clockwise.

I was just testing you Robin. I noticed the same thing when I was in Rio. Being as it was my first trip below the equator, that's the first thing I checked!
