Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes you get rained out

I was invited to the Marlins game tonight. The last time this guy invited me to a game, I was picked up by a stretch limo and dropped off right in front of the gate. The seats were in the tenth row, by the pitcher's mound, on the first base side. If you're a baseball fan, you know these are the best seats in the house. While we were at the game I was not allowed to pay for a beer or hot dog. Needless to say, this guy is a great host.

It was raining when I awoke this morning and it continued to rain all day. Now, you have to understand, in Florida, like many tropical locations, we have a dry season and a rainy season. Our dry season is in the winter and our rainy season is summer. Right now we're in the transitional season between rainy and hurricane. No matter the season, when we get rain, it is always for an hour. It pours for forty or sixty minutes and then clears up. Today it just went on and on, all day. That never happens.

So, at six o'clock we decided not to go down to the game. This was a disappointment to me, but there was no way the field could be playable even if it stopped raining.

When I got home, I turned on the TV to see if they played.

They did, They lost. Serves them right!

The drainage systems taht they developed for professionsal parks some years ago is amazing isn't it? Well, as a baseball fan, at least your Marlins have a shot at the wild card and aren't 8 games out like these guys -----> [image]

That would have been a great game! I went to a Rockies/Diamondback game last year. We were right behind homeplate, 23 rows up.

Those are great seats, but I don't like sitting behind the screen. First base side is my favorite place. That's where all the action takes place.
