a cool tricycle

When I was 5, a friend had the coolest tricycle - chain driven and painted army green. When I was 6 I received my first bike - brand new and shiny red. I loved this bike. When I was 8 I got a new stingray styled red bike that had sissy bars taller than my head. I used to jump that bike so far. All of these bikes gave me freedom and speed and fun thus shaping my whole life.

I'm passing on that love by pulling my daughter behind my bike in a kid trailer and by having purchased a 50's style tricycle painted two-tone white and green. It's so cool

I've got a two seater trailer for my kids as well, my daughter is 2 years older than my son and they have about the same skills so far one thier own. I think he'll be riding before her, but I'm proud of 'em either way. Sounds like you're doing something to proud of too. ^_^

You can shine your shoes and wear a suit
You can comb your hair and look quite cute
You can hide your face behind a smile
One thing you can't hide
Is when you're crippled inside

Oh this post rocks! You just brought me back!

My first "trike" - shiney Candy Apple red.
My first bike - same
When I was 9, a Schwinn Sting Ray - purple with a big chrome sissy bar and sparkly banana seat!!! (There was a basket on it with flowers - I made my parents take it off cuz I was such a Tom Boy!!!)
Now, you've started the memories with your daughter...so kewel! She won't every forget!

I have to give you the necessary props for being a cool dad! I too have an old bike in my garage, 1968 Schwinn, and yes it has the monkey handlebar. I found it a bit back in a garage sale, I don't think the people even cared about the fact that it was a classic vintage bike, and in fairly nice condition. I just have to paint the bike with hotrod flames so my kids won't be ashamed of being seen on it

That's so cool you got your daughter such an awesome trike, I'm sure it will be something she cherishes...

Sweets: don't paint it in any color other than stock - do you know how much a restored Schwinn is worth?

Art~I have no idea what the bike is valued at, I was just thrilled to find one...it is the original gold and white tones now...

The original orange crates fetch upwards of $15.000. This one will be worth less but should still fetch a couple grand. Tune in tomorrow for the bicycle road show....
