I received my first Solstice gift today.

Today was one of my instructors last day of instruction before the holiday break; I really like him and I'm learning a lot. Being a trade-oriented class, there's testosterone floating in the air but it's not overpowering: with this in mind you can see why our class is extra noisy and restless since a 3-week break lies ahead.

Class ended early but before we left he gave each of us a gift. Mine was an inexpensive gasket scraper. He did not have to do this for our class and his giving like this once again confirms him as a likeable, warm and genuine guy. Kind of an ideal father type.

Life is becoming really good lately. So good that I worry that my angst-ridden, crazy, eccentric artist soul will be lost amongst these good experiences. I'm really looking forward to a Solstice fire. There I will set my soul free for a while...

BTW my instructor gave me a gift in the spirit of Christmas; it's wonderful that I can accept this spirit. May you and yours find what you seek.

A soul needs to be set free once in a while

angst-ridden.. maybe *that's* my problem...
somehow... life is just floating along too calmly for me lately. (Not that i'm complaining!!!). Or maybe it's just me floating. Not that i'm a glutton for punishment or anything, but my best and most creative works have come when my heart was being ripped out and my soul near shattered. i'm in such a rut.
not that i'm complaining.

and happy solstice (a bit early)
