OLD...."IN- OUT"

Thousands of years old.

"Breathing in...you become aware of the sensations of your body, and of your most distracting organ, your MIND (emphasis added).

Breathing out...you experience a release of body tension, and you struggle to bring the wandering mind back to your breath.

IN...the air tickles the tip of your nose.

OUT...the pain in your knee subsides, the mind still meanders.

IN...Shouldn't I be doing something more useful with this time?

OUT...Who is the "I" in that last thought?

With ever more subtlety , eventually you come to understand, sometimes painfully, sometimes joyfully, 'We are what we think'".

Breathing IN and OUT, MY heart is calm.

I am the real deal! "Come Get Me!!!"

Breathing is easy .. it's getting my mind to stop the wandering that is hard.

Breathing is easy...and it will shut up eventually. The key is to make it bored enough that it is lulled into a distant whisper or just goes to sleep. That takes some perseverence tho.

I started meditation practice about 16 years ago and my mind still yacks away at me. I really do think it's part of the human condition....but then, I'm not as diligent as I could be with meditation. I guess the noise serves some purpose that I haven't figured out yet.

Yup...this juiciness is from me....
