Christmastime in the Rockies

Well it's that time of year again, with 2005 drawing to a close I reflect on the previous 12 months. We have just had a fresh snow and all the evergreens are holding the heavy white crystal flakes with the utmost care. It looks like a fairyland in my back yard and I look forward to warmer happier days. We have just lost a dear sister in law, she was 47 yrs. old. Just 2 days ago we laid her to rest and it was the most beautiful day. The sun was shining, most of us just had suit jackets on, it was so mild. The chinook (snow-eater)had come and taken away most of the snow and had left green grass.
As I write this, I am remembering as kids how we used toboggan/slide down "big hills" that now look small, skate on ponds that are no more and build snow forts for snowball fights or steal a kiss!

Our lives are so busy nowadays that we lose contact with old friends and you don't really miss them until you see or hear from them again and realize how much you have missed them. I have a lot of friends from every walk of life and I am truly thankful for all of them as they always give me such warm fuzzy feeling inside (or was that the eggnog?). Seriously, taking the time to renew old friendships & see family & loved ones is truly worthwhile. Live life to the fullest and HAVE NO REGRETS! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
