What would the world be like if we lived in a socialist society?

Let me ask, do you know what's the difference between Communism and Socialism? Dictator/no Dictatorship, Do we really know how to govern ourselves? I think there are theories that work minus one factor_ the nature of the human condition. If GOD gave us the freedom to choose in the yin/yang fashion, what makes some human being think he or she can be the self appointed ruler of all under GOD! Humans are generally weak w/ temptation so we love to do the least to gain the most, thus relinquishing our power to choose. Capitalism thrives on selfishness and greed overcoming the majority therefore it is a minority who run EVERYTHING. And we have the nerve to be pissy about our lives, we do this to ourselves. I'm just so sick of spoiled Americans complaining. Try surviving in a third world country or just vote for that matter.

I'm not quite clear what you're saying about socialism and communism - I'd love it if you'd elaborate 'cause that stuff is interesting to talk about - but definitely an Amen sistah! on the bounty we've got here in the U.S. There's a report on the Department of Energy web site that says it all with these stats: 99.9% of U.S. households have a refrigerator, 99.7% have a cooking appliance, 98.9% have at least one color television. And those are just luxuries - speaking of surviving in a third world country, we're way, way ahead of most of the people who have lived on Earth throughout most of human history simply because we can turn a tap anywhere we live, work, or play and get clean water.
