Night at work....

So I get a family in for a 60 year old man with severe heart palpitations last night around 10:30.

140 beats per minute, along with highly erratic blood pressure and all kinds of other things going wrong.

The family is going nuts as usual. Mainly because the man's never been sick a day in his life. Suddenly, whammo.

Anyway, after all sorts of tests, including a tox screen, the problem is discovered.

The 60 year old man has overdosed on ecstasy.

Why is a 60 year old man taking X you ask?

Simple, he wasn't.

But his granddaughter was.

And she had the wise idea to hide her stash in her grandfather's vitamin bottle.

We can all guess what happened.

At any rate, I saw this whole miserable drama play out.

The saddest thing I've seen in a while.

The old man didn't make it.

Anxiety turned to bewilderment.

Bewilderment turned to rage.

Guilt welled up and there was a confession.

And it all became sorrow.

The granddaughter's 13 years old by the way.

These kids today....I tell ya.
